Rebirth Of The Heiress And The Tycoon's Lover (Alina) novel Chapter 321

**Chapter 321**

**AUTHOR’S POV.**

As Alina’s eyelids fluttered open, she felt as though she were breaking free from a thick, suffocating fog. The shadows of unconsciousness began to retreat, revealing a scene that made her heart race. The air was thick with worry, and the soft murmur of voices surrounded her, wrapping around her like a heavy cloak.

Gradually, her vision sharpened, and she recognized the familiar faces of her family, their expressions etched with concern. Darius loomed closest, his brow furrowed and his jaw set tight, radiating an intensity that both comforted and unnerved her. Nearby, Damien hovered, his eyes wide and anxious, betraying the turmoil churning beneath his calm exterior. Luna was perched at the edge of the bed, her fingers entwined with Alina’s, a lifeline in the storm of emotions swirling around them. Talia stood just behind, her gaze unwavering as if she were counting each breath Alina took, waiting for the moment she would awaken.

The room buzzed with overlapping voices, each thread laced with a palpable sense of urgency.

“Alina… are you okay?” Damien’s voice sliced through the noise, a desperate plea woven into each syllable.

“Sweetheart, can you hear us?” Luna’s tone was urgent, laced with an undercurrent of fear that made Alina’s heart ache.

“Sit up slowly,” Talia instructed, her voice steady yet holding a tremor that mirrored Alina’s own rising panic.

“Are you in pain?” Damien pressed again, his frantic concern evident as he leaned closer, his eyes searching hers for any sign of distress.

Darius remained silent, his rigid posture speaking volumes. His gaze was locked onto Alina, an intensity that made her feel both protected and exposed, as if he were a guardian standing between her and a world that seemed to be spiraling out of control.

Confusion washed over Alina, a wave of disorientation that made her brow furrow in concentration as she struggled to piece together the fragments of her scattered thoughts. With a voice that emerged as a raspy whisper, she managed to utter, “What… what happened?”

“You passed out,” Luna replied softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from Alina’s forehead with a gentle touch, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “You scared us all.”

Alina blinked rapidly, trying to shake off the fog that clouded her mind. “Passed out?” The words felt foreign, as if they belonged to someone else.

As she strained to recall the moments before her collapse, a rush of memories flooded back, each one more alarming than the last.

Cassian.

Darius’s ominous words echoed in her mind like a haunting refrain: “Say hi to Lucius Stormvale, your husband-to-be.”

Lucian had called her Dahlia, a name that felt both alien and unsettling.

An intense pressure gripped her chest, and the world around her began to tilt dangerously.

Suddenly, her eyes widened, and her breath caught in her throat.

“No,” she whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief. Then, shaking her head vigorously, she exclaimed, “No… no… no!”

With a surge of adrenaline, she pushed herself upright, her body trembling so violently that Luna had to grip her shoulders to steady her.

Damien froze, his expression a mixture of shock and concern, while Darius’s jaw tightened, a silent testament to his own unease.

Alina’s voice cracked, a tempest of anger and panic swirling within her.

“I am not going to marry Cassian… Lucian… or whatever the hell his name is!”

Darius stepped forward, his tone firm, yet tinged with an urgency that belied his calm demeanor.

“Rest. We can talk about this later.”

“No!” Alina shot back, her voice rising, a fire igniting within her. “I am not going to let some ridiculous blood merger dictate who I spend my life with!”

Damien swallowed hard, flinching at the intensity of her frustration. Luna reached for her hand again, but Alina recoiled, pulling away as if she could physically distance herself from the reality closing in around her.

Alina’s voice grew louder, trembling with emotion.

“And how can you be sure that the man out there is the real Lucius? Anyone could walk in here and claim to be him!”

Darius’s voice cut through the chaos, authoritative and resolute, a tone he reserved for moments of utmost seriousness.

“There is evidence. Cassian brought evidence.”

Alina stared at him, disbelief etched across her features, as if he had betrayed her trust.

“Evidence can be forged!” she retorted, her voice sharp and accusatory. “You’re supposed to be smarter than this!”

His expression hardened, the sting of her words evident in the tightening of his jaw.

“Dahlia Evergreen, get a hold of yourself!”

The use of her full name struck her like a slap, but Darius didn’t allow her a moment to respond.

With a long, frustrated sigh, he stepped back from the bed.

“We will talk about this later,” he declared, his tone final, leaving no room for argument.

He turned and strode out of the room, the door clicking shut behind him.

In an instant, Alina felt the weight of despair crash over her. She seized the nearest pillow and screamed into its soft embrace before hurling it to the floor. One by one, she followed with the others, her breaths coming in frantic gasps, each exhale punctuated by a rising tide of panic.

“Alina—” Luna began, stepping closer, her voice a soothing balm.

“Leave!” Alina shouted, her voice raw and laced with anguish. “Just leave!”

Luna halted, hurt flashing across her features. She opened her mouth, hesitated, and then tried again.

“Sweetheart, I understand you’re hurting right now, but—”

“I said leave!” Alina cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. “Everybody just leave!”

Luna’s lips quivered, her heart breaking at the sight of her sister in such torment. She glanced at Damien, who stood rigid at the foot of the bed, his shoulders tense with frustration and helplessness.

He loathed this situation—hated witnessing Alina’s pain, despised that their father was forcing this upon her. As her older brother, he felt it was his duty to shield her from harm.

But confronting Darius was not an option. Not openly.
