Chapter 570 Finish Quickly

Fine, Griffin decided. One more attempt. Time to see if he could plant it this time. This next dose would need to hit harder.
Griffin extended his own hand in turn.
The two hands clasped together.
Steven’s eyes crinkled with a faint, satisfied smile. He could feel the energy pulsing through Griffin’s body, traveling straight up his arm.
On the surface, nothing about Steven’s expression gave anything away.

But the instant that power flowed into him, his Beast-Type Divine Sigil erupted to life and locked it down completely.
Griffin felt a wave of genuine confusion wash over him. He’d clearly sensed the beast core energy slip into Steven’s body, but it vanished without a trace almost instantly, gone before he could track it any further.
It was like chasing a ghost.
Was Steven’s raw strength really that far beyond normal?
Griffin laughed. “Honestly, I think you’re the one who should be holding back, not me. You’ve ended your last two fights with a single punch each time. I don’t have that kind of firepower in me.”
Steven smiled. “Come on, don’t sell yourself short, Griffin. I’ve had a feeling you’re stronger than you let on this whole time. Try not to go too hard on me out there.”
Griffin let out a helpless laugh. “You’re being far too modest.”
Steven added, “When you fight my girlfriend later, make sure you take it easy on her too. She’s delicate, and she doesn’t handle pain well.”
The two of them stood there chatting like old friends catching up over coffee.
Everyone watching felt a strange sense of disorientation settle over them. Were these two actually going to fight, or was this just going to turn into some heartfelt reunion between old buddies?
Both of them kept insisting the other should go easy.
And Bianca, delicate? Fragile?
That description felt like it belonged to an entirely different person.
Griffin smiled and nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll keep that in mind. Friendship first, competition second.”
After several more failed attempts to funnel that corrupted energy into Steven, Griffin finally gave up.
There was simply no way to infect this man, no matter how hard he tried.

Griffin released his grip.

A quiet sigh of disappointment passed through Steven’s mind. If only he could’ve pulled a little more ou
of him.
Still, pushing for more risked tipping his hand too early.
He let go of Griffin’s hand as well.
“Well then, Griffin, I’m starting now.”
Griffin laughed easily. “Bring it on!”
The two of them stepped back from each other, readying themselves for the coming clash.
This time, Steven finally unleashed the full force of his Divine Sigil, wind and fire surging to life around him.

roared and surged forward with explosive force.
Steven found himself feeling almost bored by the whole thing
Sure, this guy had reached level 32, but even that posed absolutely no real threat to him.
His Beast-Type Divine Sigil now sat at level 38, granting him complete and total dominance. No matter now monstrous his opponent claimed to be, in front of Steven, there was only one possible outcome. They’d fall.
Steven understood by now that this man probably wouldn’t try to infect him again so easily.
There wasn’t much point dragging this fight out any further.
