hapter 618 Hunting the God Eaters
Steven didn’t say a word. He charged forward at incredible speed.
He was like a beast in human form, tearing through the swarm.
His fists struck again and again. Wherever he went, beasts burst apart, leaving clouds of blood behind.
The members of the Valkyries Squad stared in shock.
It was terrifying. Steven was fighting alone at the very front. The others barely had to do anything. They only needed to finish off the few beasts that slipped past him.\\
Shane suddenly shouted, “You’re the guy who beat Kenneth?!
“Are you some kind of monster? You only had your Divine Awakening this year, and you can already beat Kenneth?”
Steven ignored him and kept fighting. His eyes constantly scanned the area.
‘A huge group of beasts is coming from the south. Damn it! We need to head north!” Steven shouted.
He immediately led the group in a new direction.
The darkness made it difficult for everyone else to move.
They fought as they advanced, changing directions again and again.
Every time they tried to turn east toward their destination, another group of beasts blocked their path.
Steven soon realized something was wrong.
These beasts weren’t attacking at random. They were driving them north.
A cold look flashed in Steven’s eyes.
Those God Eater scum had to be behind this.
But there was nothing they could do right now. They had no choice but to follow the path being forced on them.
Steven kept his Eye of Insight active and watched everything around them.
They continued forward while fighting off wave after wave of beasts.
In the end, they were still forced north, far away from where they wanted to go.
The fighting continued for more than three hours.
Finally, the beasts stopped attacking.
Steven and the others finally had a chance to catch their breath.

By then, however, they had already left the Cloudspire area. They were now in the smaller mountain range between Cloudspire and Wyrm Peak: The group stopped there to rest.
Shane cursed under his breath. “Those stupid beasts pushed us even farther from our destination.”
Everyone sat down to recover.
Steven turned to Alan. “They’re deliberately forcing us north. I think those creeps are waiting for us up there.”
Alan thought for a moment. “We don’t have many choices. For now, we’re being forced to follow their plan. The only other option is to fight straight through the swarm.”
Shane frowned. “The God Eaters?”
Alan nodded.
Shane’s expression hardened. “If that’s true, we’ll have to find a way to wipe them out. Otherwise, they’ll keep coming after us.”
Steven looked at him with surprise.
That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
Shane grinned. “Great minds think alike.”
Steven turned back to Alan. “Captain, if they want us to go north, then we’ll go north. We’ll find a chance to ake them all out. Otherwise, they’ll keep causing trouble for us.” He glanced toward the dark mountains ahead. “I’ll scout ahead while it’s still dark. I want to see what they’re planning.”
Alan considered it for a moment before nodding. “All right. Find out if that old bastard is with them. Then we’ll decide what to do.”
Steven nodded. “Got it. Stay alert until I get back.”
Shane raised an eyebrow. “Steven, what are you doing? It’s dangerous out there at night. Where are you going?”
Steven gave him a faint smile.
He didn’t answer. A second later, he shot into the sky and vanished into the darkness.
“Alan, he…”
Who went scouting alone in the middle of the night?
Bianca glanced up at the sky.
Ever since entering Solaria Mountains, she had felt more and more excited.
She couldn’t explain it. Deep down, she felt as though something was calling out to her.
