Chapter 654 The Human ATM
Riley asked again, “Then how did you end up alone? Didn’t the Cooper family arrange for a Divine King to protect you?”
Logan sighed. “We ran into a terrifying beast tide and got separated. Even a Divine King couldn’t protect me every second. They might all be dead.
“This mission is far too dangerous. I never should’ve come. Maybe if I hadn’t come, none of them would’ve died…”
Logan’s talkative nature took over, and he rambled on and on.
Everyone was starting to lose patience with him.
When Logan realized no one was responding, he looked at Steven.
“I’ll follow you from now on. This is a small gift to show my gratitude. Thank you for saving my life.”
As he spoke, Logan took something resembling a crystal pendant from his spatial converter. It was clear and gleaming.
At first glance, it looked ordinary, like a decorative pendant hanging from a fine red cord.
However, Steven immediately realized that the pendant was anything but ordinary.
It contained tremendous energy.
Steven asked, “What is this?”
Logan smiled. “It’s only an ordinary protective origin artifact. It can block a fatal attack from any Divine King below level 56. It’s not worth much, so please accept it.”
Everyone who heard that widened their eyes.
Ordinary? An origin artifact?
Something that can block a fatal attack from a Divine King isn’t worth much?
Even a family like the Gordons wouldn’t provide a disposable item like this to its younger generation.
The cost of making such an item was enormous. This tiny crystal pendant was probably worth several hundred million low–level divine crystals. What family could afford to spend money like that?

$30
ched
That was enough to raise several S–rank Divine Generals from level 41 to level 50!
A single–use item like this offered terrible value for its cost.
After hearing that, some people’s breathing quickened. Logan truly treated money as though it meant nothing.
Steven glanced at him. Honestly, he was a little tempted.
“If you give it to me, what will you use?”
Logan grinned. “I have more. Don’t worry.”
Is that something a normal person would say?
Moreover, he has more than one of them on him, which makes it even more unusual.
Steven shook his head. “You should keep it. I didn’t do much for you. Even if I hadn’t stepped in, you probably would’ve been fine.”
Logan grabbed Steven’s hand and stuffed the pendant into it.
“Come on, Savior. Don’t be a stranger. If you hadn’t helped me, I would’ve used up far more resources than this. You got me out of danger, which means you saved my life. Please take it.
“Otherwise, my conscience won’t let me rest.”
Steven remained silent for a moment.
“Fine. I’ll accept it.”
Logan was delighted. “Great! Perfect!”
Everyone looked envious. Steven was incredibly lucky to receive such a powerful defensive item so easily.
However, the next second, Steven turned and handed the pendant to Bianca.
“Bianca, wear this. It can save your life.”
“Steven, you should keep it.”
Steven shook his head. “It’s fine. A Divine King at that level can’t hurt me.”
Logan added, “Savior, you’re such a good man. You really spoil your wife. There’s no need to argue over it. I have more, so I’ll take out another…”

Everyone was speechless.
Does he really need to flaunt his wealth so openly?
