Not a single member of Soulreaver had died. Nebula had lost three people in the earlier battles. leaving only seven alive.

Even Wyrmshade had lost several members. The fact that Soulreaver and Nebula Squad still had this much fighting strength was nothing short of a miracle.

And much of the credit went to Alan.

During the earlier battles, Alan had stayed close to them and saved them from danger more than once.

Still, no one thanked him. Alan didn’t say anything either. They simply watched Alan and Steven from behind.

The two sides now faced each other at the bottom of the cliff.

Only seven people remained behind Darby. In the distance, more beasts were slowly approaching, but only a handful of level 6 beasts were in sight.

Cayden’s side wasn’t doing much better. He had only a little over 90 people left, including 20 Divine Kings. Even two Divine Kings from Cayden’s Shadowwyrm had been killed.

Their situation was still grim.

Steven fell silent as he looked over the battlefield. Both sides had used nearly every trump card they had, yet the battle had ended in a bloody stalemate.

Worse, there were still far too many beasts.

“Cayden, I never expected the military to give you a Void Lotus. That was quite a surprise.”

Darby sighed. “I’ve suffered heavy losses today, but so have you. My original target was Heath. But now, you’re the one I want dead the most. Do you really think you’ve won just because you hurt us this badly? You’re wrong! You lost the moment this battle began!”

Cayden sneered.

“You don’t get to decide who wins. Once we wipe you all out, victory is ours!”

Darby threw back his head and laughed. In truth, both sides were using the conversation to recover as much strength as possible.

“If it weren’t for that kid, I wouldn’t have needed to use so many trump cards today.” Darby said. “But this win still belongs to me! And now, every last one of you will die!”

Darby’s face hardened. “Do it!”
