“You’re right. Carbon-based life includes every known organism on Earth, from plants and animals to fungi. We have more than enough weapons, so protecting ourselves shouldn’t be a problem.” Leonel paused. “But if plants and animals have already started mutating, does that mean the acid rain is coming soon?”

Autumn shook her head. “We can worry about that later. Right now, we need to deal with what’s already happening. Increase patrols and warn everyone not to touch any bodies they find.
