Autumn continued, “How are you going to prove you’re not lying to me?”

“I swear!”

“You think I’d believe that?”

“The supplies are hidden in the root cellar at the northwest corner. You can go check right now!” Steven was truly terrified. He could tell Autumn was ruthless.

Autumn glanced wickedly at Declan behind Steven. “Those supplies can only buy one life. You can choose to save yourself or save him.”

Steven’s face darkened. “Bro, don’t be so greedy.”

Autumn drew her saber and pointed it at Steven and Declan. “You’re the greedy ones. You got too ambitious. You thought sending over 300 people was enough to defeat us. Since you chose to make us your enemy, you should’ve been ready to pay with your lives!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Autumn swung her saber toward Steven’s head.

But just before the blade reached Steven’s neck. Autumn caught the look in his eyes. He wasn’t scared or regretful.

He looked excited.

Autumn reacted instantly. She swung her saber behind Steven while rolling across the ground.

A bullet struck the spot where she had been standing only a moment before.

If her reaction had been even a fraction of a second slower, she would already be dead.

Autumn dodged the shot, while Steven grabbed Declan and rushed out of the tunnel. As he ran, he shouted at the top of his lungs, “Cover us!”

Autumn put away her saber and crouched down. Before she could chase after them, a burst of heavy gunfire erupted outside.

Bullets tore up the frozen dirt, sending chunks of earth flying into her face. It stung.

She pulled her face covering higher, leaving only her eyes exposed. After the shooting stopped, she quickly took out a small mirror, attached it to a selfie stick, and raised it above the tunnel entrance.

A red laser dot instantly appeared on the mirror.

Bang The mirror shattered a second later

Autumn immediately pressed herself against the wall beside the opening.

A smile spread across her face. So the enemy had a skilled sniper too.

She pulled out another mirror and raised it.

Bang! It shattered again.

Fortunately, she had plenty of mirrors.

When Autumn raised the fifth mirror, the enemy finally stopped shooting.
