A drone circled the building several times before emptying its magazine.

The warm, comfortable room instantly felt freezing.

Marcella climbed to her feet and cursed. “Those rich bastards are unbelievable!”

Declan and Steven had also been scared flat onto the floor. It took them a long time to recover.

Declan trembled all over. “How do they have everything? How are we supposed to fight them? Our people are all going to die.”

Steven tried to calm him. “Declan, staying alive comes first. We’ll have a chance to strike back someday. We…”

Marcella’s face suddenly twisted with anger. She waved at them frantically. “Go! I’ll cover your escape!”

As soon as she finished speaking, she raised her rifle and fired wildly through the window, drawing everyone’s attention to herself.

“Honey…” Declan shouted. Steven immediately covered his mouth and dragged him away.

He roared. “Declan, stop holding Marcella back! You might have taken the blame for her crimes, but you can’t take a bullet for her!”

Declan was dragged away.

The two of them grabbed only the most important supplies-food, water, and medicine. After pulling on their coats, they crawled toward the exit.

But the moment they stepped outside, a gun barrel was pressed against their heads.

“Go on. Keep running.” Someone kicked both Declan and Steven to the ground.

Delan shook with fear.

He hadn’t expected the enemy to arrive so quickly.

Looking at the people surrounding them in a half circle, he immediately realized that the rest of the Steel Claws members were probably all dead. Otherwise, the enemy couldn’t have surrounded them so easily.

Declan shouted toward the upper floor. “Honey! I don’t think we’ll ever see each other again! Take good care of yourself!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly threw open his coat and reached for the pull cord hidden underneath.

“Declan, don’t!” Steven shouted instinctively.

The drone above them riddled both Declan and Steven with bullets.

One of Autumn’s people stepped forward and checked the bodies. Only after confirming they were both dead did he press the radio. “Asher, Declan, and Steven are confirmed dead.”

“Cut off their heads, then pull back,” Autumn ordered.
