It was fortunate Daniel didn't have high blood pressure or heart disease, otherwise, he might have literally died of anger right there.
"Hmph! You people truly have no shame! Everything is always for Emily. What about Elena? Elena is the daughter you raised for eighteen years, yet you are so cold-blooded. First, you let Emily steal the marriage to the Holt family. Now that things went south with the Holts, you're coveting our Elena's happiness? What a pair of wolves!"
"I'm starting to wonder how Elena survived eighteen years in the Sterling family! You certainly never treated her with sincerity. Now you want to suck her dry? Your consciences have been eaten by dogs! Asking us to give up Dylan to you? Impossible! Don't talk about two million; even for twenty million, we wouldn't do it! Get out!"
Thomas and Melissa hadn't expected Daniel to unleash such a torrent of abuse right out of the gate.
"You... what are you being so arrogant for! Who do you think you are? Giving you two million is doing you a favor! The Sinclair family originally wanted our Emily! You are the ones stealing my daughter's marriage!" Melissa screamed back.
"Bah! Shameless! Elwood, see them out! Never let these two mad dogs in again. We don't have friends like this!" Daniel ordered.
Elwood stepped forward immediately. "Please, leave."
"Fine! Fine! You think you're so high and mighty! Just you wait!" Melissa shouted, pointing a finger at them.
"Sir, Madam, please leave immediately!" Elwood's attitude hardened.
Thomas and Melissa were unceremoniously chased out. The large iron gate slammed shut behind them with a heavy clang.
"What trash! This big villa must have been bought for them by Dylan. With their poverty, how could they afford it? Mooching off others and acting so self-righteous. It's disgusting!"
"Exactly. No class. Absolutely no class! We tried to reason with them nicely, and they refused to listen!"
When Elena returned that evening, Amanda told her about the Sterlings' visit.
Hearing that they had been kicked out, Elena felt relieved.
"Dad, Mom, you did the right thing. You don't need to be polite to people like that," Elena said.
"But... your father and I were afraid you might be upset. After all, they were your foster parents. There must be some feelings there. Was it too harsh?" Amanda, upon reflection, felt uneasy.
Elena knew they were kind-hearted, so their reaction was natural. She spoke earnestly, "Mom, Dad, actually Thomas and Melissa didn't treat me well. When I was three, I was sent to the countryside. I wasn't close to them. To outsiders, I was the Sterling daughter, but I grew up in the country, just like my brothers and Claire."
