Amanda said, “Elena, Justin is your grandmother's nephew from her side of the family. You were lost when you were young, so you wouldn't know him.”
A moment later, a man in his early twenties appeared.
He was wearing a suit and looked elegant, the very picture of a gentleman.
“Justin pays his respects to Great Aunt, and to all the uncles and aunts.” Justin greeted them politely.
The old lady rarely smiled, but she did now. “Justin! You’ve come just in time. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you; you’ve grown into such a talented young man!”
Justin was modest, greeting his cousins one by one.
At the dinner table, the old lady looked at Daniel. “Daniel, actually, I asked you here today to tell you something. regarding the company's finances, I want Justin to handle them. From now on, he will serve as the Financial Manager. What do you think?”
Daniel was naturally agreeable. “Mom, Justin has studied overseas and is capable. Of course, I’m happy to have him.”
Elena just quietly ate her dinner, thinking that Daniel seemed to appreciate Justin as well.
It seemed the old lady still wasn't entirely at ease, placing her nephew in the company.
But judging by his appearance, Justin seemed decent.
His behavior and conversation seemed upright.
Elena suddenly noticed Claire beside her. Claire's gaze seemed fixed on Justin.
From the moment Justin appeared, she had been watching him.
Emily was off to the side, eating with the staff.
She couldn't swallow a bite.
The Whelan family really didn't treat her like a human being, forcing her to sit with the help.
After a few bites, she ran outside for some air.
Suddenly, she heard voices ahead. She quietly moved closer to peek.
It was Justin and Claire.
“Claire, long time no see. You’re doing well? I heard you went to LUMEN Studio. I didn't expect you to be a designer.”
Why!
Why was she the only unlucky one?
“What are you peeking at?” Cathy's voice sounded from behind.
Emily and Cathy had been at odds since childhood.
Back when Amanda brought her to the Whelan family, she had fought with Cathy.
Cathy naturally wouldn't let this opportunity to mock her slip by.
“I wasn't looking at anything.”
“Hmph! You were lowly before, but I didn't expect you to be a fake, not even a real Whelan. You're even lowlier than I imagined. I really admire your courage, daring to come to the Whelan family.” Cathy sneered.
“How am I lowly? I am a true heiress; Elena is the fake one! Besides, the Sterling Group used to crush your Whelan Group. What right do you have to lecture me!”
“Hahaha!” Cathy laughed. “Are you trying to kill me with laughter? You said it yourself—that was *before*. Now the Sterling family is bankrupt. And here you are, sucking up to the Whelans. My Uncle and Aunt might be soft-hearted, but we aren't pushovers! The current you is just a dog in the Whelan family! You aren't even fit to sit at the table!”
