Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 374

"Why didn't you tell us you were kidnapped sooner?!" Chris shouted, clearly frustrated.

"Chris, I wanted to say something, but Elena told me not to tell anyone so you wouldn't worry."

"I'm calling Dylan right now!" Chris said.

Dylan answered the phone. He was still in Riverton.

"Chris, relax. Elena is fine. She messaged me. She said the signal is bad where she is. She's just taking a break for a few days and will be back soon."

"Is that the truth?" Chris was skeptical.

"Of course it's true. I wouldn't lie to you. Elena will definitely come back!" Dylan said firmly.

After hanging up, Chris felt a heaviness in his chest.

"Chris, what did Dylan say?" Amanda asked.

"Mom, don't worry. Dylan said he has news of Elena. It's just bad cell reception. She'll be back in a few days."

"If Dylan says so, then we can trust him. She'll be back."

"But what about Elena's classmate being kidnapped? Did she really go to save someone?"

"She did, and her classmate is fine too. Dylan said the classmate returned safely, so don't worry about it."

Daniel and Amanda finally relaxed.

But Chris remained anxious.

He felt like Dylan was just trying to keep them calm. The reality was probably much worse.

When Dylan returned, Chris planned to grill him for the truth.

The south was rainy. Riverton, located on the southern border, was dark and humid.

A misty rain began to fall from the sky.

When Elena opened her eyes, she couldn't tell where she was.

She had no strength left in her body; it felt as if every bone had been shattered.

There seemed to be insects on her—ants, probably. The heavy scent of blood on her must have attracted them.

She tried to move her hands and realized they were tied to the bed.

"Oh, look who's awake," a familiar voice said.

Elena turned her head, shock registering in her eyes.

"Emily..."

It was Emily!

How had she fallen into Emily's hands?

No wonder she was tied up.

Emily walked over, arms crossed, looking smug. "Elena, oh Elena. You never thought you'd end up in my hands, did you? Hahaha! Karma really is a bitch!"

"No, I really didn't expect it..." She had survived.

She thought she would have been smashed to pieces at the bottom of that cliff. Dead for sure.

It seemed it wasn't her time to die yet.
