“If I helped you, would you accept it?”
“Yes, why wouldn’t I? I’d be an idiot to say no!”
Elena smiled and continued eating.
After dinner, the two of them strolled around until late afternoon.
“Time to go back. Actually, don’t follow me home. I don’t want to take care of you anymore,” Bianca said to Elena.
“Who asked you to take care of me? It’s not like I’m helpless. Besides, I cook for you!”
Bickering playfully, they returned to the apartment.
Elena went into the bedroom and lay down to rest.
Her body hadn’t fully recovered yet, and the walk had left her surprisingly exhausted.
Bianca stayed in the living room to work on her design sketches.
Just as Elena was closing her eyes to rest, she suddenly heard a loud *bang* from the living room.
Someone had broken in.
“What are you doing here?” Bianca stared at the woman standing before her.
Gloria crossed her arms. “My dear sister, I’m here to see you, of course. You haven’t been around for a while, but now you’re finally back!”
“Get out!” Bianca said coldly.
“Trash the place!”
A group of men pushed in and started smashing everything in sight.
“Stop! Stop it!” Bianca shouted frantically.
Gloria stepped forward and slapped her across the face.
“You little bitch, you dared to bully me? I haven’t forgotten what happened at that restaurant!”
Bianca wasn’t about to just take the hit. But as she tried to fight back, Gloria’s men grabbed her.
“So noisy. Are you guys robbing the place?” Elena walked out of the bedroom.
“Oh, there’s someone else here!”
Elena leaned against the doorframe. Seeing Bianca pinned down, she spoke calmly to the men. “Let her go.”
Gloria crossed her arms and sneered. “Elena, do you still think you’re Mr. Sinclair’s fiancée? Do you think I’m afraid of you now?”
Even though her body wasn’t fully healed, dealing with these low-level thugs was a piece of cake.
Seeing the tide turn against her, Gloria turned to flee.
*Bam!*
Elena kicked the door shut.
Gloria jumped, startled.
“What… what do you want?” Gloria stammered nervously.
Elena walked toward her, step by slow step. “Didn’t you just say you weren’t afraid of me? What’s going on now?”
“I… I…”
“Relax, I won’t hit you!” Elena flashed a bright smile.
She turned to look at Bianca. “Bianca, darling, what did she do to you just now?”
“She slapped me.”
“Good. Now you can take your revenge.”
