“So, are you still breaking up with me?”
“No. Never.” Elena smiled.
Dylan shook his head, a doting smile in his eyes, and moved all the dishes she liked in front of her.
After the meal, the two walked hand in hand down the street.
“I've thought about it for a long time, and I need to explain the Isabella situation to you!” Dylan suddenly said.
“No need. I don't care about her.”
“Why don't you care? Is it because you don't like me that you don't care?”
Elena stood on her tiptoes and gently kissed him. “It's not that I don't like you, it's that she doesn't matter. I don't care what kind of person she is; I care about your attitude.”
Dylan was overjoyed. Elena really wasn't like other girls.
She was wise and intelligent. Things that worried ordinary people didn't bother her at all.
“But I still want to say it. After all, she is considered part of the Sinclair family.”
“Did you two have a past?” Elena guessed.
“When we were young, Isabella was the one who kept me company. To take care of me, she willingly got locked up with me. My father had three women and many children, so naturally, he didn't care about me. My mother didn't like me either. Back then, my only emotional anchor was Isabella. I even had the thought that when I grew up, I would definitely marry her and treat her well.”
“But it was just a thought. After my accident, I thought the whole world would abandon me, give up on me, except for her. I thought she would stay by my side. But she went abroad! My mother sent her away. Even if she was forced, I felt incredibly lost and hurt.”
“After that, I stopped trusting anyone. I let myself rot in the North Suburbs because no one in the world cared about me! Until you appeared and saved me. You became my only one, the light of my life.”
“In the Riverton region, when I heard you fell off the cliff, my heart felt like it was being carved out. I couldn't sleep; I was devastated. That was when I realized how important you are to me. It's completely different from Isabella. Isabella was just a childhood dependency.”
“When she left, I only felt irony and loss. It wasn't this tearing pain like I feel now. Only with you is it different. Elena, even if there was anything between her and me, it's all in the past. I hope you won't mind.”
