Elena took Dylan's hand and examined it. It was covered in scars.
They looked fresh.
It seemed he had truly been worried about her, to the point of abusing himself and leaving his hands in such a state.
His knuckles were covered in welts.
She could understand Dylan’s mindset.
Growing up with no one to rely on and disliked by his parents, it was understandable that he would become overly dependent on someone who showed him care.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm telling the truth, Elena. I have no romantic feelings for Isabella. It's just a dependency. We haven't even kissed. My first kiss was dedicated to you," Dylan explained again.
Elena burst out laughing.
"So, you're still an innocent man?"
"Of course. You can test me and see just how innocent I am!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Dylan pulled Elena close and went in for a deep kiss.

The Sinclair Estate.
Amber was brewing tea while Isabella waited on her attentively.
"Aunt Amber, your tea-making skills are really getting better and better."
Once the tea was ready, Amber poured a cup for her.
"What has Dylan been up to lately?"
"Dylan is busy at the company! But it seems Elena has gone missing, and he's been looking for her."
"Missing? What happened?"
"It's not clear yet."
Amber revealed a smug smile. "Missing is good. He needs comfort right now. You need to seize this opportunity to get into his heart. To me, you are the only daughter-in-law I approve of!"
Isabella smiled. "Thank you, Aunt Amber."
"And has Patrick gone abroad again?"
"Let me formally introduce you. This is my fiancée, Elena."
Isabella was speechless.
Seeing Elena there, Amber’s expression turned extremely ugly.
"Did you have my permission to bring her to the Sinclair home?" Amber asked coldly.
"I don't need it. Elena is practically half a Sinclair already. Besides, I brought her here today to see Dad and discuss our engagement," Dylan said with a smile.
However, the atmosphere in the living room was oppressive.
There was a palpable tension between him and Amber.
"Fine! You're all grown up now, got a backbone, haven't you? Is this how you speak to your mother?" Amber slammed her teacup onto the table.
Elena walked over, picked up the cup Amber had slammed down, and gently placed it back in front of her.
"Ma’am, save your anger! Have some tea instead."
Seeing Elena provoke her like this, Amber was so angry her face went pale.
