Cathy stepped forward and saw a school kid nearby.
"Hey, kid, let me ask you, is this Daniel's house?"
The child nodded. "Yes."
"Okay, go play!" Cathy waved her hand.
"Grandmother, Mom, this is the place," Cathy said, looking back at the car.
Maggie helped the old lady out of the vehicle. "Mom, be careful!"
The old lady looked at the dirty, messy ground with disgust, but for the sake of her disappointing second son, she endured it.
Supported by Maggie Whelan and Cathy, they walked into the courtyard.
"Is anyone here? Anyone home?" Nick knocked on the door, but there was no movement.
"It seems like no one is here. Could Uncle Daniel and his family be out?"
The group was at a loss. They had come all this way, but no one was home.
"I can see that it's very dirty and messy here. It looks like no one has lived here for a long time. Cathy, Nick, did you find the wrong place?" The old lady had sharp eyes and noticed it immediately.
"That shouldn't be! Why would that kid lie to me?"
"Hurry up and go ask again. You useless things!" The old lady scolded angrily.
Cathy went out to check again and just happened to see a neighbor woman returning with a hoe.
"Ma'am, may I ask, is this Daniel's home?"
"Yes, it is. Are you looking for them?" the neighbor asked.
"Yes, we are their relatives. We came to visit him today, but they don't seem to be home. Do you know where they went?"
"Alright, you have a kind face, and you look just like Daniel. I believe you. Their family moved to Evergold Heights. By the way, since you are going to find them now, can you help me bring some things to them?"
"Sure, no problem." The old lady agreed readily.
As a result, the neighbor grabbed four old hens and threw them into their trunk.
"Amanda said before that she wanted our hens for soup and asked me to save them for her. It works out perfectly; you can bring them to her. Make sure to say they are from me!" the neighbor instructed.
"Okay, okay, okay." The old lady agreed awkwardly.
Then the group got into the car.
"What is this! The whole car reeks of chicken. She didn't even look at what a high-end car this is. She actually shoved a few chickens in. What a hillbilly!" Cathy said, covering her mouth.
She had never been in the same space as a chicken in her life.
"Yeah, it really stinks. Mom, why don't we just throw the chickens away? We've driven far enough; she won't know if we toss them," Maggie added.
