Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 720

Even though it had been the first time for both of them, the entire encounter had flowed with such raw, natural intensity.

They had moved together in perfect, feverish sync.

While Elena was lost in her flushed memories, Dylan reached across the table and grasped her hand.

"Come on," he murmured, his voice slightly husky. "Let's go home."

The moment they returned to his apartment, Elena headed straight to the bathroom to take a shower.

Dylan stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, pulling out his phone to call George Miller.

"I need you to dig into everything about Isabella Bennett. I want a microscopic timeline of every single thing she did during those years she spent abroad."

"Dylan, are you saying..."

"There's a mastermind backing her. I strongly suspect the kidnapping that left me crippled years ago was orchestrated by whoever is pulling her strings."

"Understood. I'll get on it immediately."

"Dylan!" Elena's voice suddenly rang out from the hallway.

Dylan spun around and saw Elena walking out of the bathroom, fresh from her shower.

"Whoa, what's going on over there? I definitely just heard a woman's voice. It's late, who are you with?" George asked, his tone dripping with nosy curiosity.

"Miss Whelan," Dylan replied smoothly.

"Wait, are you two living together now?"

"That is absolutely none of your business," Dylan snapped.

"Alright, alright, I'll back off! Looks like the grumpy old virgin finally broke his streak. Congratulations, boss!" George teased shamelessly.

"Get the hell out of here," Dylan growled.

He mercilessly ended the call.

"Are you all done?" Dylan asked, his voice instantly softening as he looked at her.

"Yeah, I'm heading to bed. You should go shower," she replied, stifling a yawn.

As she walked past, the intoxicating scent of jasmine body wash drifted into his senses, making his entire body pull taut.

Taking a deep breath, he headed into the bathroom.

By the time he emerged and walked into the bedroom, Elena had already fallen asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he left the lights off.

He carefully lifted the edge of the duvet and slid into bed beside her.

Wrapping an arm around her waist, he gently pulled her soft body against his chest.

Her sweet, natural scent enveloped him, sending a dangerous rush of heat straight to his groin.

His blood felt like it was practically boiling in his veins.

A heavy sigh of utter disappointment rumbled in Dylan's chest.

"Your visitor has truly terrible timing," he groaned, dropping his forehead against hers.

"I don't have a choice in the matter. You're just going to have to hold it in," she teased lightly.

"Fine. I'll endure it." He planted one last lingering kiss on her forehead before wrapping his arms firmly around her.

"Does your stomach hurt? Do you want me to go make you something hot to soothe the cramps?" he asked softly.

"No need. I'm not in any pain."

"Don't girls usually experience a lot of pain during this?" he asked, genuinely concerned.

"Well, I'm not an ordinary girl!" she replied proudly.

She had survived hellish, grueling physical training. In those brutal camps, her instructors certainly hadn't cared what time of the month it was.

It was nothing but ruthless survival and endless endurance.

"Yes, yes. You're no ordinary girl," Dylan sighed, slowly untangling himself from her. "But I'm a perfectly ordinary man with needs."

With that, he climbed out of the warm bed.

Elena was just about to ask where he was going when the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom.

He was going back in for a freezing cold shower.
