Reborn Fake Heiress Watch the Whole Family Burn novel Chapter 906

That explained why Dylan and the Whelan family were unreachable. Scarlett had completely severed her from the outside world. She didn't even have a phone.

Elena slowly raised her hand, staring at her trembling fingers.

Why was she paralyzed?

It felt exactly like Lethargia Serum.

Her eyes darted to the IV stand beside the bed.

The doctor came in every single day to hook her up to an IV drip. Could the relaxant be in the fluid?

Scarlett knew she was a lethal fighter, so she had spiked her daily medication with a paralyzing agent to keep her docile and helpless.

Elena spent the night suffocating in her own anxiety.

The next morning, Nurse Gretchen marched in.

"Time for your IV. Give me your arm," Gretchen ordered.

Elena slowly extended her arm. Gretchen expertly inserted the needle, secured it with tape, and walked out.

The second the door closed, Elena ripped the needle from her vein.

She held the dripping tube to her nose and inhaled. There it was—the faint, unmistakable chemical scent of Lethargia Serum.

Scarlett had weaponized her medical treatment.

Elena fought through the crushing gravity pulling at her limbs. She dragged herself upright, using the wall for support. She was as frail as a leaf in a hurricane; a light breeze could knock her over.

She managed to detach the IV bag from the metal hook. Too weak to walk, she collapsed back to the floor and dragged herself into the en-suite bathroom.

Using her teeth, she tore the plastic cap off the IV bag, dumped the paralyzing fluid down the sink, and painstakingly crawled back to hang the empty bag on the stand.

Elena held her gaze. "I haven't seen Ethan in a while. How is he doing?"

Scarlett's smile widened. "You finally thought of him. I'm glad he's on your mind."

"Madam Scarlett, I'm done playing games, and you should be too. Let's cut the bull. Why are you keeping me locked up here?"

"I'm not locking you up," Scarlett purred. "You're just unwell. Keeping you here to heal is for your own good."

"We both know exactly what's going on. For half a month, I haven't even been able to stand. I don't know what you've been pumping into my veins, but you're treating me like a prisoner. For my own good? Spare me the riddles. Tell me what you want."

"Patience, darling," Scarlett chuckled darkly. "Tomorrow, everything will make perfect sense."

Elena's jaw clenched. What the hell was she planning?

The next morning, Elena was violently yanked from her sleep by Nurse Gretchen.
