REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 114
I dropped down, planting one knee right across her neck to pin her down against the rug. "Hold still, or I'll drop it right on your face," I whispered..
Nysa whimpered, freezing under my weight. With my free hand, I reached down, bunched up the hem of her shirt, and dragged it up to expose her stomach. I tilted the candle, letting the hot, molten wax drip directly onto her bare skin.
She let out a piercing, blood-curdling scream, thrashing violently beneath me, but I didn't stop. I let the wax pool and burn, watching her skin turn bright red. In my last life, she had done the exact same thing to me, pressing a hot iron to my skin just to break my spirit.
"Doesn't feel so good, does it?" I whispered sweetly into her ear.
After her skin was thoroughly red, blistered, and irritated, I lifted my knee, stood up, and blew out the candle, tossing it aside. I walked over to her walk-in closet, sliding the door open, and scanned the racks until I spotted a heavy leather belt hanging from a hook. I unbuckled it, pulled it free, and walked back out into the bedroom.
Nysa scrambled away on her hands and knees, crying out as she tried to crawl toward the bedroom door to escape, but she forgot I had locked it. She rattled the handle frantically, screaming for help. I walked up behind her, raised the belt, and brought it down hard across her back.
She screamed at the top of her lungs, curling inward as the leather cracked against her skin over and over again. Outside in the hallway, heavy pounding echoed against the wood as servants or probably Caroline reacted to the noise, but I didn't care. I kept going until my arm ached, raining blows down until her entire body was covered in angry red welts from the leather. When I finally stopped, she collapsed onto the floor, curled into the fetal position, groaning and crying in weak, broken gasps.
I stepped over her, crouching down so I was right at eye level, and smiled.
"Do you know why I'm so ruthless to you?" I asked softly.
She didn't answer, just shuddering through her tears.
I leaned in closer, my voice dropping to a cold, razor-sharp whisper. "If I don't kill you, then my father will. You don't want to die, do you... mother?"
The word hit her, and her face went pale, her eyes blowing wide with absolute, primal horror as her body shook violently under the weight of the truth. Before she could even draw another breath, her eyes rolled back, and she passed out cold on the floor.
I stood up straight and dusted off my clothes, rolling my shoulders back. I reached into my pocket, pulled out the key ring, turned the lock, and pulled the bedroom door open. Standing right on the other side was Caroline, her face bright red with blind rage and a heavy kitchen knife gripped tightly in her hand.
Before she could even register the door opening, she lunged forward, thrusting the blade directly at me. I didn't panic. I stepped neatly to the side, trained for the movement, and sharply slapped my hand against her wrist, sending the knife clattering across the floor. Before she could recover, I drove my elbow hard into her chest, hitting her so hard she lost her footing and collapsed heavily onto the floor, gasping for air.
I stepped over her, pulled my phone out of my pocket, and dialed Carlton.
He answered on the first ring. "Hello?"
