Summary for Chapter 125: REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess (Nyxara)

REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 125

It was too close and too fast. In the chaotic scramble, the passenger door of the lead car flew open, and Nysa leaped out from the side. Before my guards could intercept her, she lunged forward and slammed her fist directly into my stomach. A white-hot spike of agony tore through me.

Instinct took over, I didn't care about the pain. Planting my feet hard against the pavement, I grabbed a fistful of Nysa's hair, jerked her forward, and smashed her head straight through the car window, glass shattered in an explosion of sharp shards.

I shoved her back, lifting my boot, and kicked her hard square in the chest, sending her sprawling backward out of our circle straight into the main street into the path of oncoming traffic.

My security detail locked around me, grabbing my arms and physically hoisting me into the backseat of our idling car. The doors slammed shut, and we sped off into the night toward the Valteri estate. That was when I felt it, something wet and warm running down my thighs.

I looked down, the harsh glow of the dashboard illuminating the blood soaking through my clothes, and the cold truth hit me all at once. That hit from Nysa had stolen everything. I was having a miscarriage.

The car rushed toward the Valteri estate, the other security details in the convoy trailing close behind. My hands shook as I pulled my phone out of my bag, my fingers slipping slightly against the screen before I managed to open messaging.

I texted Dario: Get the doctor at the estate, I'm hurt, fifteen minutes away.

Dario's reply came almost instantly: Life threatening?

I replied: No.

I pushed the phone back into my bag and rested my head against the headrest. The streetlights blurred past in long, jagged streaks of yellow and white. The pain was hitting me hard now, sharp and tearing through my lower stomach like a physical blade. Even though I hated hospitals, I knew deep down I would eventually need to go, but right now, I just needed to get through the gates.

When the car finally pulled up to the Valteri estate, Dario was already outside waiting. The car hadn't even fully stopped before the back door was yanked open. He reached in, pulled me out, and checked me over frantically.

"Where are you hurt?" he asked, his voice tight with panic.

A fresh wave of pain hit me so hard I doubled over, gasping for air against his chest. Without another word, he scooped me up into his arms and climbed back into the waiting car.

"Hospital, now!" he roared at the driver.

Suddenly, car doors were slamming all around us. Uncle Pascal yanked open the front passenger door and climbed in, and the driver floored the accelerator, tearing back out onto the road. Dario looked down at me, his dark eyes wide with worry. "Hold on, kitten," he whispered softly.

I pressed my face into his shoulder, tears prickling hot behind my eyelids. "I lost the baby," I whispered.

His entire body froze. For a long, agonizing second, the world outside the car seemed to stop spinning. After a while, he pulled me closer, holding me tighter against him as if he could physically glue the pieces back together.

"It's fine," he whispered , his voice cracking slightly. "A child... we can always have another. You... no, I can't and won't ever replace you."

I closed my eyes briefly against the mounting pain, I was too exhausted to argue or cry any harder. When the cars finally screeched to a halt at our destination, there was shouting and rushing feet outside, but I was too tired to open my eyes. I just let them handle it, letting the darkness pull at the edges of my consciousness.

Dario carried me inside, setting me down gently on a bed. I looked up through a haze of agony and asked the doctor hovering nearby if I could just go to sleep. The doctor looked at me, then looked over at Dario with a grim expression. "Would you like something to help you relax?" the doctor asked gently.
