REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 50

Nysa came running around the corner and hurled herself into the living room. Her nose was heavily bandaged from where I had broken it earlier, her hair was a tangled mess, and her eyes were wild with absolute terror and rage. She looked like a ghost dragged straight out of a nightmare.

"Stop it! Stop it right now!" he screamed, lunging across the room toward the coffee table trying to rip the marriage certificate up.

Before she could take two steps toward the coffee table, my mother moved faster than I had ever seen her move. My mother gasped, lunging forward and wrapping her arms tightly around Nysa's waist, physically dragging her backward.

"Let me go, Mother! She’s stealing everything! Let me go!" Nysa shrieked, kicking and thrashing wildly as our struggled to hold her back, shouting for the household staff to help restrain her.

Nobody else in the room flinched. The Valteris didn't even blink at the pathetic display. Vincenzo merely took a slow sip of his scotch, while Elena looked away with quiet disgust.

Dario pulled me slightly behind his shoulder, his eyes fixed coldly on the unfolding chaos.

"The signatures are witnessed and binding," the registrar announced quickly, snapping his briefcase shut and gathering his papers. "The marriage is legally executed." he said.

"Get her out of my sight," my father commanded, his voice shaking with pure embarrassment as two guards rushed in to help my mother drag a kicking, screaming Nysa back up the stairs.

With the paperwork finalized, Dario looked down at me, his hand sliding from my wrist down to grip my hand. "It's time to go, kitten." he whispered.

I gave a soft, obedient nod. My father stepped over, his face lined with exhaustion and a strange, heavy sadness. He pulled me into a brief, tight hug. "I'll see you soon, sweetheart. Take care of yourself." he whispered.

"I will, Father," I whispered, keeping my voice gentle.

I turned away from him and walked out toward the front doors, the distant, muffled screams from Nysa were still echoing down the hall like music to my ears. Dario opened the heavy front door, ushering me out into the crisp afternoon air toward the waiting car.

The heavy doors of the Vexari estate shut firmly behind us, cutting off the noise and sealing my old life away for good. I slid into the plush leather seat of the car, and as Dario climbed in beside me, I couldn't help the small, triumphant smile that finally broke across my face.

The drive to the Valteri estate was smooth, the heavy hum of the car isolated us from the noise of the city. When the massive iron gates parted and we rolled up the winding stone driveway, the sheer scale of the estate came into view. It wasn't just a house, it was a damn fortress of dark stone, tall glass windows, and manicured lawns that screamed old-money power.

When the car came to a stop, the driver hurried to open the door. Dario stepped out first, offering a hand to help me down. As soon as we crossed the threshold into the foyer, the heavy tension of the ride melted away just a fraction. The interior was modern but classic, it had high ceilings echoing the quiet luxury of the place.

For a second, everyone just breathed. Dario let out a low sigh, adjusting his cuffs.

"I have meetings to clear up in the study," he said, looking down at me with a sharp, unreadable gaze. "Make yourself comfortable. The family will show you around." Without waiting for an answer, he turned and headed to the east, citing work.

I stood there for a second, wondering how to navigate the social minefield of my new family. When Elena and Vincenzo walked in, followed by Bianca, Ella, and the grandparents, I hesitated.

"I... um," I started, pausing awkwardly. I honestly didn't know what titles to use for Elena and Vincenzo.

Ella caught my hesitation, stepping forward with a warm, easy grin. "Don't stress over it. Just call them Mom and Dad and for them?" She nodded toward the elderly couple standing near the grand staircase. "Grandmother and Grandfather."
