REBORN My Second Life I Became The Villianess novel Nysa and Dario Valteri Chapter 68

I reached out, cupping her face firmly in both of my hands, forcing her to look straight into my eyes so she had nowhere else to run from the truth.

"Listen to me," I told her, my voice dropping into a harsh, unyielding whisper. "She doesn't hate you because you are better than her. She hates you because you are a living, breathing reminder of her own mistake. Nysa isn't your sister. She is your mother and nothing you do will ever change that bloodline."

I paused, letting the next words drop like lead weights.

"Pedro is your father." Tears finally broke past her defenses, spilling over her lashes and running in hot tracks down her cheeks. She let out a choked sob, trying to pull her face away from my hands, but I refused to let go. I just held her tighter, pulling her forehead against my chest.

"You're my wife," I said into her hair, my voice vibrating with dark, absolute resolve. "And you will stay my wife, no matter whose blood runs through your veins. I will get your revenge for you, Kitten. I will tear that house down, and I will ruin them for every single thing they've put you through."

Nyxara’s POV

My whole body was shaking so badly I could barely keep my footing. Dario kept his hands locked around my face, but his touch felt miles away while my brain tried to process the incoming barrage of shattering truths.

Nysa wasn’t my older sister. She was my mother.

The pieces fell into place with a sickening crash, rewriting every single memory of my childhood. The way Nysa looked at me with such venom, the endless, cruel hatred she had directed toward me, it all made terrifying sense now. I wasn't just a rival sibling getting in her way. I was the living, breathing proof of a secret she wanted buried, I was a constant reminder of her past.

And Caroline... Caroline wasn't my mother at all. She was my grandmother. She had stood by and watched Nysa abuse me, treating me like a servant in my own home while covering up her daughter's deepest darkest secret. Carlton wasn't my father either; he was just another pawn that was being kept in the dark, or worse, a grandfather who had no idea he was raising his own granddaughter under a fabricated lie. Every insult, every cold glance, every locked door, and every tear I had ever cried in that house flashed through my mind.

Then, the shock boiled over, turning into a blinding, scalding rage.

The fury rose up from my stomach, burning hot and sharp in my throat. For a long time, I had wanted revenge for what she had done to me in my past life, planning to make her regret it and take back what they owed me. But this was now far beyond past-life vengeance, this was personal. This was the theft of my entire identity.

It was a sick, twisted joke being played on me from the second I took my first breath. I didn't just want revenge anymore. I wanted them to suffer. I wanted to strip away every single lie they built their lives on and watch them burn.

I pulled my face away from Dario’s hands, stepping back a half step and staring straight up into his dark eyes.

"No," I said, my voice dropping into a cold whisper that carried all the venom I had been holding back. "I don't want you to do it for me."

Dario blinked, his brows drawing together slightly as he looked down at me.

"I will do it myself," I told him, my fists clenching so tight my nails dug into my palms. "I will make them suffer. I will make Nysa wish she was dead."

A slow, dangerous smirk spread across his lips, and his eyes burned with dark approval.

"Good girl," he murmured, stepping closer and pulling me back into his chest.
