"PFFT—"
Hearing that, Jasmine Sterling couldn’t help but burst out laughing. She quickly tried to cover for it, saying, "Sorry, I choked on my own spit."
Randall Jennings wasn’t distracted. He had no intention of giving the man a chance to question Jasmine Sterling and continued, "Second, Mr. Warner, you said you have a child and that you plan to have Ms. Sterling bear you another. I have my doubts about that."
"Let’s set aside the success rate and risks of Ms. Sterling having a child at her age for a moment. You, on the other hand, Mr. Warner, don’t exactly look like you’re in prime reproductive condition yourself."
No man could hear that and remain indifferent.
Mr. Warner’s face instantly flushed red. "What did you say?! I’m perfectly healthy!" he fumed.
Randall Jennings simply raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed. "No man will admit he can’t perform, but you have to accept your age. This is where my youth gives me a clear advantage. First, I’m unmarried and have no children. Second, I’ve never thought about asking Ms. Sterling to have another child for me, let alone specifically demanding a son. It’s not like I have a throne to pass down, after all."
"Of course, if Ms. Sterling wanted to have a child, I obviously appear to have superior reproductive capabilities compared to you, Mr. Warner."
At this, Mr. Warner was beet-red, looking like he was struggling to hold back an imminent eruption of anger.
Seeing this, Miss Warner quickly turned to Jasmine Sterling. "Jasmine, you have to understand, a woman needs someone to rely on in the latter half of her life. Mr. Warner’s business is so big, how could you worry about not having a good life with him?"
"Speaking of business," Randall Jennings chimed in at the perfect moment, delivering the final blow to the man’s last and proudest trump card. "My company primarily deals in minerals, natural gas, real estate, and large-scale physical economies. Our annual profit is nearly a million dollars."
"Impossible!" Mr. Warner’s beady eyes narrowed as he shook his head in disbelief. "There are less than ten companies in the entire country with assets over a million dollars! Don’t try to scare me!"
"My name is Randall Jennings."
Mr. Warner: !
"You... you’re Randall Jennings?"
Mr. Warner shot up from his chair in shock, staring at the man before him in utter disbelief. He felt his scalp go numb.
Randall Jennings’s expression remained nonchalant from start to finish. He could have revealed his identity from the beginning and intimidated the man, but he deliberately chose to reason with him.
But was he really reasoning with him?
Not really. He had heard the man’s words, felt he had insulted Ms. Sterling, and gotten angry!
He wanted to humiliate the man on Ms. Sterling’s behalf, to make him understand that he was utterly worthless—not even fit to carry Ms. Sterling’s shoes!
A business card appeared on the table. Mr. Warner didn’t even dare to reach out and take it, only staring at the words on it from a distance.
Chairman of Jandon Group, Randall Jennings!
Judging by the man’s reaction, he would behave himself now. Randall Jennings turned to the dumbfounded Miss Warner.
"Ma’am, you see, even someone with my qualifications is struggling to win her over. You shouldn’t be sending just any random riffraff to Ms. Sterling. If you’re really going to introduce someone in the future, they’d have to be even more outstanding than me, wouldn’t you say?"
Miss Warner might be old, but Jandon Group was a massive conglomerate known to everyone in Cathay.
How many men in the entire country could be found who were more outstanding than Randall Jennings?
