Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't novel Chapter 92

Chapter 92: Chapter 90: He is a genius

Cecilia Sterling sat alone in a corner, watching the villa’s main entrance. When Charles Jennings didn’t come out after a long while, she guessed he must have found Estelle Goodman, and a small sense of relief washed over her.

"What are you doing sitting here all by yourself?"

Just then, Jonah Goodman appeared uninvited, carrying two glasses of wine, and sat down across from Cecilia.

He was wearing a black, vintage-style suit. The cuffs and collar were embroidered with bright red rose patterns, giving him an air that was both seductive and rakish—a perfect match for his temperament.

’So flashy.’

A moment ago, Cecilia might have been willing to trade some playful banter with him, but right now, she clearly wasn’t in the mood, and it wasn’t the right time.

So she glanced at the wine Jonah offered but didn’t reach for it. Her gaze was cool as she said, "I’m not in a good mood right now. You should try another time."

At her words, Jonah raised a handsome eyebrow and, with surprising directness, simply nodded. "Alright. I won’t bother you."

With that, he gently placed the glass of wine in front of Cecilia, gave her a small smile, then rose and left without a moment’s hesitation.

’He really knows how to take a hint!’

Cecilia watched his retreating back and let out a wry, amused chuckle. He really was a playboy who knew what he was doing. If he had pestered her for even a second longer, her opinion of him would have plummeted straight to the floor.

But since he left so decisively, she actually had to give him a few more points in her book.

Meanwhile, Conrad Goodman and his wife had just finished greeting their friends. Mrs. Goodman finally let her smile fall, her eyes filling with worry as she looked at Conrad. "Kael Jennings is usually such a smart kid. How could he bring his fiancée to our home today!"

Her tone was laced with undeniable resentment.

Conrad Goodman sighed. "You can’t really blame him. Estelle never told him how she felt. How was Kael supposed to know?"

"Stop making excuses for him. You think he couldn’t tell?"

"There’s no point in talking about this now. Estelle is only a sophomore, and Kael is already planning to get engaged. It’s definitely impossible for those two." Conrad Goodman waved his hand dismissively. "She’ll meet someone better in the future. Kael isn’t the right one for her."

But just as the couple was talking, two young men in server uniforms suddenly approached. One of them quickly pulled something from his waist, startling the couple so much they stumbled back, nearly crying out in alarm.

However, what he’d pulled from his waist was nothing more than a document tucked into his waistband.

The young man hurriedly introduced himself. "Mr. Goodman, hello. I apologize for approaching you in such an abrupt manner. I’m Timothy Rowe, a senior in the computer science department at Lorcain University of Science and Technology, and this is my classmate, Gavin Garrett."

As Timothy Rowe spoke, he unfolded the document in his hands, smoothing out the creases. He then held it out to Conrad Goodman with both hands, his expression sincere. "A few of us classmates from the same department spent a year developing a new type of intelligent program. We know the Goodman Group has been dedicated to innovation and breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence in recent years. Our research is a perfect investment for the Goodman Group. Mr. Goodman, could you please take a look...?"

As he finished, Timothy Rowe’s eyes shone with hope as he looked at Conrad Goodman, his hands trembling slightly in anticipation.

Conrad Goodman was still a bit shaken from the surprise. When he collected himself, his expression darkened.

He was already in a bad mood because of his daughter, and now these two had appeared so abruptly. To brazenly pull out some incomprehensible document for him to see at a private party in his own home—it was completely out of line.

However, mindful of the occasion and the eyes of those around him, Conrad’s expression was cold, but his tone was light as he said, "I’m not discussing work today. If you have something to discuss, you can make an appointment with my secretary."

After all, if a college student like him could get a meeting with Conrad Goodman just by making an appointment, he wouldn’t have had to sneak in disguised as a server.

Timothy Rowe said hurriedly, "Mr. Goodman, you really can’t miss out on this program. In the future, it’s guaranteed to be a huge asset to your company’s artificial intelligence division. This program is truly amazing. You could just take it back and look at it when you have time, how about that?"

Gavin Garrett, standing to the side, also pleaded, "Mr. Goodman, please give us a chance. We will definitely build this program completely and perfectly, without a single flaw!"
