Chapter 82
Isabella returned to school and went to dorm 602, but Violet was nowhere to be found.
All she learned from Scarlett was that Violet was probably out with Charles and hadn’t yet returned.
Isabella had no choice but to return to dorm 701.
All along, she thought that by reporting Violet, she could stop her from singing at the bar. Even now, she still believed that.
However, it was a fact that she’d underestimated Violet’s grit and determination.
It was nearly eleven when someone started banging on her dorm door. When she opened it, Scarlett stood there, pale and shaking.
Isabella, has Violet come to see you? I think she’s missing!”
Isabella looked up at Scarlett, confused. “Wasn’t she still in class this afternoon?”
“But she’s been out of contact for the past few hours!” Scarlett said, “After school, Violet went to the bar, but she still hasn’t come back. She isn’t answering her phone either. Since Violet left campus without permission, I don’t dare tell the teachers, so I came to ask you–do you know where she is?‘
Isabella was surprised. “You’re saying Violet went to a bar? How is that possible? Hasn’t she already…”
Scarlett shook her head anxiously. “No, actually after you reported her last time, Violet didn’t give up on working at the bar. She found another bar far from school to sing at. Everyone in the dorm knows about it, but Violet told us not to tell anyone, so I didn’t dare tell you.
“And normally Violet comes back around ten every day, no later than eleven at the latest, but it’s almost midnight now and she’s still not back!”
Isabella listened to Scarlett’s words, frowning deeply. “Where is this bar?”
Scarlett quickly gave her the address.
Isabella got up and headed out.
Scarlett chased after her. “Isabella, where are you going?”
“To find her, of course.”
!
“But… Scarlett wanted to say something, but seeing Isabella’s quick pace, she gritted her teeth. ‘Isabella, wait for me, I’m coming with you!
On a weekend night, neon lights flickered in the city center.
Inside D.K. Bar, the scene was lively.
Violet sat on a high stool in the corner, microphone in hand, singing a melodious and cheerful tune.
She sounded captivating as her voice echoed through the hall, causing people who passed by to look at her.

Violet had been performing here for almost half a month. Each time, she came and sang for two hours and would leave at nine o’clock, but today the bar was
hosting an event, so she had to sing until the early morning. However, her hourly rate would be triple the usual amount.
The income for singers here was quite high. The hundred dollars per session was just what the manager paid her. If customers paid to request songs, she could take fifty percent of it, and the customers here were very generous–sometimes paying two hundred dollars for a single song.
In just half a month, she had already earned five thousand dollars.
Soon she’d be able to buy Charles that guitar he had his eye on.
Just a little past midnight, Violet finished her last song. As usual, she rose from her chair, bowed lightly and walked toward the break room.
