When Lin Zhiyi confirmed from Chu Yin that Sang Li was also missing, she immediately realized that something had happened to both of them.
"Zhiyi, why did you suddenly look for Mr. Sang? Do you know something?"
"After Mr. Sang returned to Hai City, the Third Young Master also went abroad on a business trip, and now I can’t get in touch with him. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence."
Lin Zhiyi’s intuition told her that there was something she didn’t know in between all this.
Chu Yin was a bit confused.
"They went to different places. Is there really a connection?"
"What I want to confirm is this matter, and I need to find one person." Lin Zhiyi spoke calmly with determination.
"Zhou Zhao, he said he had something to take care of today and would come to see me later, but he hasn’t shown up yet."
Only then did Chu Yin realize that Lin Zhiyi’s suspicions might be true.
Lin Zhiyi frowned and said, "Waiting for him now is a waste of time. I know there’s another person who might know."
"Who?"
"Li Huan."
After the call, Lin Zhiyi quickly headed to the hospital to meet with Chu Yin.
Li Huan had just finished his rounds and was about to sit down for a drink of water.
Nothing much happened today, so he could get off work early and spend time with his wife.
Really happy.
After taking a sip of water, the door was suddenly pushed open, scaring him so much he almost threw the cup.
Seeing who it was, Li Huan sighed in relief.
"What are you two doing? Are you planning to tear down my office?"
Lin Zhiyi got straight to the point: "Where did the Third Young Master and Mr. Sang go?"
Li Huan was stunned for a moment, then immediately lowered his head, pretending to tidy up the water stain on the table.
"Did you two ask the wrong person? Didn’t Mr. Sang return to Hai City? As for the Third Young Master, didn’t you, Zhiyi, say he went abroad on a business trip?"
"Really?" Lin Zhiyi took two steps forward.
"What are you thinking? How would I know? I’ve been busy preparing for the wedding recently, how could I be concerned about others?" Li Huan explained.
Lin Zhiyi stared at Li Huan. After knowing him for two lifetimes, she remembered some of Li Huan’s small actions.
When feeling guilty, he would become flustered.
After being reborn, Lin Zhiyi often guessed Gong Chen’s thoughts through Li Huan’s small gestures.
She even used Li Huan for help at times.
So, there’s no way Li Huan could deceive her now.
Lin Zhiyi raised her hand to stop Li Huan from wiping the table, and Li Huan didn’t immediately pull away.
Instead, he seemed hesitant.
"Li Huan, Chu Yin and I can’t reach the Third Young Master and Mr. Sang, and even Zhou Zhao has suddenly disappeared. What do you really know?"
"..."
Li Huan was dumbfounded.
But soon, Gong Chen’s warning echoed in his mind.
"Li Huan, you only have one task: never let Zhiyi find out what I’m doing. Even if it kills you, keep your mouth shut."
Li Huan swallowed hard and shook his head with difficulty.
"I really don’t know."
Lin Zhiyi gritted her teeth; she had forgotten one of Li Huan’s characteristics.
Stubbornness.
If in his previous life, Li Huan had explained some things for Gong Chen, Lin Zhiyi wouldn’t have ended up on a dead-end path.
There’s no point in talking about these things now.
Lin Zhiyi pondered how to pry open Li Huan’s mouth.
Chu Yin stepped forward and pleaded, "Li Huan, if they really are in trouble, at least we have the right to know. Please, just tell us."
Li Huan looked at Chu Yin, recalling Sang Li’s warning.
"Don’t go blabbing everything, even if you and Zhou Zhao are just fooling around, or else... I don’t care if you’re a friend of the Third Young Master."
Each warning felt like a blade at his throat.
Li Huan shook his head: "I don’t know."
Li Huan took a deep breath and sent Zhou Zhao a message, urging him to call back.
.....
When Li Huan finished checking on all the patients, Lin Zhiyi and Chu Yin were still sitting quietly in the office.
He forced a smile and walked in.
"A big boss and a superstar, both so idle? Go get busy, maybe later today they’ll contact you."
Lin Zhiyi was originally happy to hear this.
Li Huan must have contacted Gong Chen and Sang Li.
But when she looked up, her smile faded. Li Huan didn’t dare meet their gaze.
He kept his head down, tidying the medical records, as if looking for something to keep himself occupied.
Lin Zhiyi understood something was up, something big.
She stood up and approached, intent on stopping Li Huan’s busy hands.
But she accidentally knocked over the stacked medical records.
As the files fell, Lin Zhiyi bent down to pick them up, only to find one that didn’t belong among the medical records.
It was an investigation report.
Sarah Rein.
Upon opening it, she saw that this woman was the old man’s mistress.
And the young boy by her side was his illegitimate son.
Li Huan realized too late when he tried to snatch it back.
Previously, Sang Li had pretended it was a medical record and handed it to him, and he had left it with the others, only to forget about it in his busy state.
"Lin Zhiyi, I..."
"They went to find this person, didn’t they?" Lin Zhiyi interrupted his explanation.
Li Huan pursed his lips, still wanting to deny it.
Chu Yin said loudly, "Li Huan, if something really happened to them, do you think we could live with the guilt of being the last to know? Think again about Zhiyi and Xingxing."
Li Huan mumbled a few words, then sighed deeply.
