Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight novel Chapter 1042

Chapter 1042: Chapter 1042: Changed Preferences

Sang Li wasn’t good at cooking, and his rinsing of the vegetables was all over the place.

Chu Yin didn’t say anything, she quietly tidied up, as long as Sang Li was willing to cook, she was satisfied.

Neither of them expected they would cooperate so seamlessly.

The meal was ready in no time, though Chu Yin’s cooking skills weren’t particularly great. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

After all, she didn’t have her mother’s guidance, only her lifelong experience.

Before eating, she said cautiously, "My cooking surely can’t compare to restaurant dishes. If there’s anything that doesn’t suit your taste, just let me know."

She would remember for next time to improve it.

The saying goes, to capture a man’s heart, you must first capture his stomach.

Sang Li saw through her thoughts, smiled softly and said, "A big star like you is so busy, you can just leave these little things to someone else."

Chu Yin pursed her lips, "Why aren’t you acting like the usual guy? At this point, men usually say they love everything their woman cooks."

"I haven’t eaten yet."

"You..." He didn’t know how to charm a woman at all.

Chu Yin sighed.

How did he and Lin Zhiyi ever date?

According to Zhou Zhao, many ideas were his, which must’ve been difficult for him.

Sang Li tasted a bite and nodded slightly, "Alright."

Chu Yin was not impressed—did this man really not understand?

Sang Li noticed Chu Yin’s eager gaze and smiled.

"Chu Yin, thank you."

"Oh."

Sometimes Chu Yin thought she was too easy to please; just a simple sentence like that made her not upset anymore.

After finishing their meal, Sang Li cleaned up the dishes, since the apartment had a dishwasher, it didn’t take much time.

Chu Yin sat on the sofa and began selecting a movie.

There was a comedy she was interested in, and while choosing, an idea struck her.

How could she choose a comedy?

Did she want Sang Li to accompany her in a fit of laughter?

Besides, Sang Li didn’t seem like the type to watch comedies.

Guys like him probably grew up watching documentaries and art films.

Chu Yin quickly exited the comedy section and started looking for a movie in the art film category.

Boring, truly boring.

Just reading the synopsis made Chu Yin sleepy.

In the end, Chu Yin chose an artsy film with a touch of suspense.

Just then, Sang Li came out of the kitchen.

Chu Yin waved at him, "Come sit and relax for a bit. I can’t take you to the cinema, but I can offer you a movie at home. It’s definitely good—artistic and deep."

Artistic? Deep?

These four words were unlikely to be associated with Chu Yin.

Sang Li hesitated briefly but eventually sat down.

"Okay. Let’s watch it together."

Chu Yin pressed play, feeling pleased inside, thinking he might consider her a woman of talent.

Ten minutes into the film, Chu Yin’s eyelids felt extremely heavy.

Onscreen, a woman kept having nightmares, recalling stories with her beloved.

Safely, it was like a lullaby.

Chu Yin repeatedly told herself she couldn’t sleep, hurriedly picked up her tea cup and took a sip, intending to discuss the plot with Sang Li to shake off the drowsiness.

Unexpectedly, upon turning, she found Sang Li resting his head, eyes closed.

"Mr. Sang? Mr. Sang?" Chu Yin gently called out.

Sang Li opened his eyes: "Hmm, what’s up?"

Chu Yin asked, "Is the movie good?"

Sang Li rubbed his eyes, "What do you think? It’s a sleeping aid."

With these words, Chu Yin’s sleepiness vanished as she drew closer to Sang Li.

"Don’t you all love artsy films?"

"We have tastes too." Sang Li rubbed his brows, "A mentally ill female protagonist with a head full of fantasies, what’s so great about it?"

"Are you drunk?" he asked hoarsely.

"I haven’t had any alcohol..."

As Chu Yin emphasized, she suddenly understood his implication.

Sang Li lowered his gaze: "Neither have I."

Chu Yin realized he meant he was serious.

She thought for a few seconds and asked, "About Zhiyi..."

Sang Li interrupted, "That’s in the past. My preferences have subtly changed because of someone."

Chu Yin smiled, "Alright, just making sure, so you don’t change again someday."

"Okay."

Sang Li accepted honestly.

Chu Yin pointed at the TV, "Do you still want to watch?"

Sang Li sat upright, "Let’s watch something else, I need to calm down."

"Comedy, perhaps?"

"You choose." Sang Li cleared his throat, adjusted his attire as if concealing something.

Chu Yin acted like she didn’t notice, picking a comedy she thought was good.

For this, Chu Yin even fetched her stash of snacks from the cabinet.

"No need to be reserved. I locked these away earlier for dieting while shooting a drama."

"You don’t need to diet."

Sang Li glanced at her slender shoulders, fearing he might not control his strength when touching her waist.

Chu Yin chuckled as she held the snacks, "Since the boss says so, I’ll comply. You should try some too, even though I know people like you don’t usually eat these, they’re quite tasty once in a while."

Sang Li wasn’t particularly into snacks, but he tried a few, they indeed tasted good.

Chu Yin sat beside him, munching and laughing, occasionally sharing small anecdotes.

Miles better than watching the artsy film earlier.

Except, Chu Yin didn’t last until the end, falling asleep with half a bag of chips clasped in her arms.

Sang Li looked at her and smiled, pulling her into his embrace and closing his eyes.
