Just as Chu Yin was pondering what felt off, the movie began.
After watching a third of it, Chu Yin suddenly understood Sang Li’s intentions.
She lightly tapped Sang Li’s hand.
"Did you deliberately trick me?"
Sang Li reversed hold and grasped her hand, his eyes bright in the darkness, and replied with a hum.
Chu Yin felt the warmth in her palm and didn’t immediately pull her hand back.
This was the first time Sang Li had taken the initiative to hold her hand.
But she didn’t dare indulge for too long; after a moment, she wanted to withdraw her hand, yet Sang Li only tightened his grip.
"Don’t move, watch the movie."
"Oh."
Chu Yin didn’t know what the movie was about at all, her mind filled only with the hand held within his.
No wonder people say that cinemas are perfect for couples to deepen their feelings.
It’s so true.
She now feels even the air in the cinema is sweet.
All the way until the movie ended, Chu Yin was immersed in sweetness, until the cleaning staff approached with brooms, confusedly looking at the two.
"How long do you plan to sit here?"
"Huh?"
Chu Yin snapped back to reality, realizing everyone else had left long ago; only she and Sang Li remained seated.
She suspiciously looked at Sang Li, finding him resting his chin, gazing at her.
"Why didn’t you remind me?" Chu Yin asked.
"I did remind you; when I let go, you held even tighter." Sang Li glanced at their hands.
Chu Yin pursed her lips, feeling like a woman taking advantage.
The cleaning staff across from them cheerfully watched, and had she not been masked and wearing 3D glasses, she would’ve wished to crawl into a hole.
She quickly released Sang Li’s hand, explaining, "I... I fell asleep, that’s all."
The staff said, "Oh really? I saw you smiling foolishly the whole time."
Chu Yin’s cheeks burned as she hurriedly replied, "I was just... dreaming."
The staff gave a ’what can you do’ expression, looking from Chu Yin to Sang Li.
"As long as your boyfriend believes it."
"He..."
Chu Yin dared not look at Sang Li.
Sang Li stood up, smiling: "I believe you. Let’s head back."
Chu Yin nodded vigorously.
Huddling close behind him, she walked toward the exit.
Behind them, the cleaning staff frowned.
"That man looks like an elite, yet isn’t he just a hopeless romantic?"
Chu Yin caught the words ’hopeless romantic.’
She felt like laughing; one day Sang Li would be called a hopeless romantic.
Once they were in the car, Sang Li turned to look at Chu Yin.
"Is it funny?"
Chu Yin coughed: "It wasn’t intentional; I just wondered why people think you’re a hopeless romantic."
Sang Li, driving, teased, "I am a bit. Even now I can’t grasp how to date, which is why I’ve been single for over thirty years. Unlike you... adept."
Adept?
It felt odd to Chu Yin, and she stopped laughing.
"Um... you’re not jealous, are you?"
Everyone knew that Chu Yin had been in a relationship.
Sang Li pretended to turn, checking the rearview mirror lightly, humbling acknowledgment.
"Hmm."
Chu Yin hadn’t expected his reply, shocked into silence.
"You... truly jealous?"
"Can’t I be? I thought I was being obvious enough."
Sang Li spoke so naturally.
Natural enough to make Chu Yin feel it was justified.
