Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Clothed Beasts
Chapter 11 -11 Clothed Beasts
Sensing the gaze, Lin Zhiyi turned her head.
It was Gong Chen.
Dressed in a cold, austere black suit, his slender fingers resting against his temple, the blood-red ring on his finger carried a tinge of bloodthirst under the sunlight.
Song Wanqiu leaned by his side.
It seemed Song Wanqiu was saying something; the two stood very close, and there was a faint softness on Gong Chen’s face.
Lin Zhiyi withdrew her gaze, feigning calmness as she put down her hand.
“Thank you.”
“No need for thanks,” said the man, glancing in that direction, “That’s the Third Young Master, isn’t it? Truly doting on his fiancée to personally pick her up and drop her off.”
Indeed.
Everyone could tell of Gong Chen’s partiality towards Song Wanqiu.
Only she from the previous life, like a fool, waited for him, loved him.
Lin Zhiyi was about to nod when Liu He pulled her.
“Now that we’ve run into him, hurry over and greet your uncle.”
“I won’t,” Lin Zhiyi shook off her hand, about to leave.
“You child…”
Liu He hadn’t finished speaking when she was interrupted by the sudden voice of Song Wanqiu.
“Second Madam, Zhiyi, what a coincidence, and this is…”
Song Wanqiu, clinging to Gong Chen, sized up the man beside Lin Zhiyi.
Liu He had always thought Song Wanqiu was cunning, and after the incident with the Gong Family, she became even more convinced of Song Wanqiu’s ill intentions. freewebnovel.cσ๓
She moved beside the man, boasting with pride: “The young master of the Zhao Family, Zhao Cheng, a promising talent, we are all very satisfied.”
The word “we” was laden with deep meaning.
Lin Zhiyi wanted to stop her but was too late, feeling the gaze from the opposite side growing heavier.
Zhao Cheng stepped forward like a gentleman: “Third Young Master.”
Gong Chen didn’t look at him, his gaze casually falling on Lin Zhiyi, a mocking smile forming on his lips: “We?”
At last, he swept over Zhao Cheng with an ambiguous tone: “Truly a man of good appearance.”
Lin Zhiyi stiffened, her palms were filled with cold sweat.
Simple as the words were, they gave her a suffocating feeling of impending doom.
Song Wanqiu glanced at Zhao Cheng with a hint of disdain in her eyes.
Such a man was nothing in Gong Chen’s presence.
He would be well-matched with Lin Zhiyi, though.
But Song Wanqiu did not show it, instead, her face bore a gentle smile: “Young Master Zhao is so wonderful, Zhiyi, make sure you grasp this well, living a quiet and peaceful life is what’s real, don’t always think of all sorts of messy things.”
The pointed implication caused Zhao Cheng to frown slightly.
Liu He was infuriated and wanted to retort, but Lin Zhiyi held her back.
Wouldn’t they be playing into Song Wanqiu’s hands if they really started arguing?
Lin Zhiyi looked up at Gong Chen, calm and unfazed, she knew all too well who she had been involved with in “messy things,” and he, by saying nothing, was conceding to Song Wanqiu’s defamation.
Lin Zhiyi sneered, pulling Liu He along: “Mom, Mr. Zhao, let’s go.”
Zhao Cheng politely said goodbye and then opened the car door for Lin Zhiyi and Liu He.
After getting into the car,
Lin Zhiyi received a message from Mr. Wu.
“Zhiyi, sorry, the Third Young Master intervened and got the school to give Song Wanqiu an extra spot in the competition.”
“I got it.”
She clenched her phone; the result was not unexpected.
Still, she felt breathless and powerless, as if struggling in a vortex yet unable to grasp any strength.
She thought she had gained one step ahead.
But she was still pressed down firmly.
How long would fate continue to mock her?
Upon reaching the restaurant.
Zhao Cheng, the gentleman, pulled out a chair for Lin Zhiyi and also ordered her a cup of hot mulled wine tea.
“You’ve seemed down, are you not feeling well? The hot mulled wine tea could dispel some of the chill.”
“Thank you.”
A gentle man always brings a little more favor.
Lin Zhiyi smiled with a nod, and she gradually relaxed.
Zhao Cheng still wore a smile, “No need to hurry.”
They made it in the last two minutes.
Zhao Cheng parked the car in the lot outside of the campus, and Lin Zhiyi immediately pulled at the car door, only to hear a click—the car had been locked again.
She tugged hard at the handle, but couldn’t open the door, turning to face Zhao Cheng’s gentle smile.
It was the same smile, but his eyes had no warmth; he licked his lips with an indecent gleam in his eyes.
Lin Zhiyi didn’t dare delay and quickly took out her phone.
She warned him, “Unlock the car, or I’m calling the police right now!”
Zhao Cheng let out a cold laugh, in no hurry, and simply reached out to touch the car’s screen.
“Take another look at your phone.”
Lin Zhiyi glanced at her phone screen, which had full signal a moment ago, and it had suddenly become a useless brick.
A signal jammer.
The car had now become a sealed space.
Seeing Zhao Cheng’s composed smile, Lin Zhiyi knew this was definitely not his first time doing something like this.
Lin Zhiyi couldn’t care less and started pounding on the car window.
“Help! Help!”
With so many cars in the parking lot, surely someone could help her!
Almost at the same time, the lights of a nearby car turned on, the luxury car’s sheen as prestigious in the moonlight as its owner.
Like Gong Chen himself.
Lin Zhiyi looked at Gong Chen in the car as if seeing a savior.
She shouted, “Third Young Master! Third Young Master!”
But in the next second, a pair of delicate hands climbed onto Gong Chen’s shoulders, pushing him toward the car door.
It was Song Wanqiu.
She kissed Gong Chen deeply.
Ignoring Lin Zhiyi’s cries for help, the car drove away just like that.
Lin Zhiyi’s breathing suddenly seized, and as she attempted to call for help again, Zhao Cheng covered her mouth from behind.
Muffled whimpers escaped her…
She couldn’t breathe, could only watch helplessly as Gong Chen’s car drove away, taking romance with it.
