Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight novel Chapter 234

Chapter 234: Chapter 234 Listen to My Arrangements

The sudden kiss frightened Lin Zhiyi so much that she forgot to resist.

Only when the man deepened the kiss did she fully regain her senses, not caring that her hands were covered in dishwashing foam, she raised her hand to strike.

But infuriatingly, Gong Chen was always one step ahead of her; her hand hadn’t landed when he caught it with his five fingers and pressed it behind her back.

Forcing her to arch her body, coming even closer to his chest.

She looked up, her gaze colliding with the man’s eyes.

His eyelids were slightly drooping, his gaze deep and dim, his lips were fierce yet filled with desire.

Lin Zhiyi angrily withdrew her hand, forcefully pried his away, and increased the distance between them.

Her nose felt sour, and after taking a deep breath, she suppressed the acidity in her throat.

"Why do you always do as you please?"

"And who exactly is doing as they please? You provoke me, then want to go and provoke someone else?"

Gong Chen coldly twirled his ring, his face showing restrained indifference and gloom.

Lin Zhiyi couldn’t argue with him, her voice bitter: "Say whatever you want."

After speaking, she turned to leave the kitchen.

Suddenly, a strong and powerful hand grabbed the back of her neck, pulled her back, and pinned her against the refrigerator.

The man ignored her resistance, held the back of her head, and kissed her fiercely.

Lin Zhiyi turned her head, leaving his lips hanging in the air in front of her.

His breath was right at her ear, somewhat chaotic, but growing increasingly hotter.

She cast her eyes down and reminded him, "Uncle, you’re going to be engaged in a few days."

Gong Chen didn’t continue, but lifted her chin with his hand to turn her face toward him.

Their eyes locked, the man’s lips curved with a cold taunt.

"So what? Your existence won’t change anything."

"..."

Lin Zhiyi’s complexion was so pale it was almost transparent, her hands dry and rough after the dish soap dried, her palms chafed.

She bravely pressed her lips together, finally asking that question, "Why did you go to Norway to save me? And why did you enter the mine to save me before? Could it be saving me..."

Could it be saving me was just to put me in this unspeakable position?

She couldn’t bring herself to say those words.

Gong Chen squinted his eyes, leaned back against the kitchen island, and silently lit a cigarette.

Those dark eyes were like the unfathomably cold and still depths of a frozen lake.

His distant gaze made Lin Zhiyi’s heart tremble.

"Lin Zhiyi, it concerns the Gong Family."

"Be good, follow my arrangements."

Upon hearing this, Lin Zhiyi felt the room spinning, leaning against the refrigerator to keep from falling.

Her heart felt as if it were being gouged out over and over, but she couldn’t feel the pain, only sensing blood oozing from her entire body.

At this moment, the voices of a brother and sister came from outside the kitchen.

Lin Zhiyi took a breath, steadying her soft body as she walked to the sink to continue washing the dishes.

But once she lowered her head, tears fell like broken threads into the water.

From behind, Gong Chen watched her through the white mist, the cigarette ash burning his hand, yet he did not move.

That is until Sang Ran entered, looking at Gong Chen with surprise: "Third Young Master, what are you doing here?"

Gong Chen stubbed out the cigarette, waving the white mist away in front of her: "I didn’t bring my lighter back, just came here to light a cigarette."

Hearing his indifferent tone, Lin Zhiyi felt like a played clown.

With a clang, the bowl in Lin Zhiyi’s hand smashed into the sink.

She hurried to retrieve it but was cut by the shards. However, she felt nothing, reaching into the soapy water with her wounded hand.

Yet before her hand touched the water, it was grasped by someone who had approached.

"You’re bleeding, be careful of infection."

Lin Zhiyi came back to reality and turned to see the newcomer, Sang Li.

He stared at her red-rimmed eyes, knitted his brows and wiped her hand with a tissue, asking nothing.

"Xiao Ran, is there a first aid kit here? I’ll treat Zhiyi."

Sang Ran nodded, and when she glanced at Lin Zhiyi, she asked in surprise, "Zhiyi, why are your eyes so red?"

Lin Zhiyi blinked in a somewhat flustered manner: "I think I might be a bit sensitive to the scent of the dish soap."

Sang Ran leaned in and sniffed, "I bought jasmine-scented ones, is it too strong? You should stop, let me take care of this, it’s embarrassing to have a guest wash dishes."

She didn’t mean to flaunt her status as the hostess, Lin Zhiyi could tell.

Looking at Sang Ran’s beaming face, with guilt churning in her stomach, Lin Zhiyi turned deathly pale.

Sang Ran worriedly said, "Oh no, are you allergic to jasmine? Your face has gone white; please, sit down, I’ll make you a cup of tea."

"Yes."

Lin Zhiyi said goodbye and turned to change her shoes and leave.

Just as they reached downstairs, Sang Li’s assistant drove the car over.

Lin Zhiyi had just gotten in the car when she saw Sang Li and Gong Chen coming down together.

As a luxury residential area, the entire community consisted of only three large buildings.

Not only was the environment of the community nice, but each building’s landscape was also designed by different international architects.

The building Gong Chen lived in was the most expensive section of the community.

The front corridor was ancient and luxurious, and the scattered landscape set off the two men as if they were noble scions from ancient times, tall and dignified.

On the other side.

Sang Li said meaningfully, "Third Young Master, I’ll trouble you with Xiao Ran, but with the engagement approaching, I don’t want any incidents."

Gong Chen’s eyes were cold and deep, "Mr. Sang, I don’t like things that are out of my control either."

After saying this, they exchanged glances, a surge of dark currents flowing between them.

Moments later, Sang Li got into the car.

Lin Zhiyi didn’t ask much, remaining silent the whole way.

When they arrived at her home, as she was getting out of the car, Sang Li called out to her.

"Aren’t you curious about what the Third Young Master and I discussed?"

Lin Zhiyi, worried that Sang Li was testing her, immediately shook her head, "Not curious, Mr. Sang, thank you for bringing me home."

"Okay," Sang Li nodded.

Lin Zhiyi left as if running away.

After entering the building, she found two ’Out of Service’ signs in front of the elevator doors.

Unlucky that both elevators were broken.

With no choice, Lin Zhiyi had to take the stairs.

As she reached the second floor, she faintly heard footsteps behind her.

"Who’s there?"

Silence. No one responded.

Lin Zhiyi thought she might be overthinking, but she still quickened her pace.

Unexpectedly, the footsteps behind her grew closer and suddenly a figure chased up to her.
