Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238: Chapter 238 I’m Really Disgusting

Lin Zhiyi was shocked when she first saw the scarf.

Because she had personally thrown it into the trash can.

How could it appear in Gong Chen’s yard?

Unless he had followed the garbage truck to retrieve it.

But after listening to the maid, Lin Zhiyi felt that how the scarf returned to Gong Chen’s hands was not important at all.

After all, it was still trash in the end.

Gong Chen must have known she had been to his yard, so he had thrown the scarf out.

She understood what he meant.

The maid stared at Lin Zhiyi and said, "Miss Lin, is there anything else?"

Lin Zhiyi loosened her grip and shook her head, "No, that’s all."

The maid tugged at the scarf and turned to leave.

Lin Zhiyi watched the flash of red disappear, her palms were already broken by her own nails, yet she felt nothing.

She smiled bitterly, and as she regained her composure, she turned and saw Liu He already arranging for people to move gifts.

Her rationality returned, and she quickly stepped forward to stop her.

"Mom, have you checked everything?"

"There are over two hundred gifts here, how long would checking take? Besides, this is the Gong Family, who would dare to mess up? Don’t worry."

Liu He instructed the servants to continue moving after finishing speaking.

Lin Zhiyi grabbed her hand, "No, no matter where, you must take responsibility once you sign off on it. It’s your first time handling such a big event for the Gong Family. It’s better to be cautious."

Thinking it over, Liu He nodded.

"You are right, hey, all of you stop, open them all and check."

Lin Zhiyi also stepped forward to help.

It indeed proved useful to check, as five boxes were missing items; two boxes lacked complete skincare products, and three were missing bracelets.

The total was worth over a hundred thousand.

Although this amount was trivial for both the Gong Family and the Sang Family, the responsibility would fall on Liu He.

Liu He broke into a cold sweat.

"It’s good that we checked, otherwise how would I explain to Old Mr. Gong?"

"Weren’t the deliveries supposed to be checked and completed by the company?" Lin Zhiyi pulled out a tissue to wipe her mother’s sweat.

Liu He patted her chest, "Well, it turned out to be a close call."

Lin Zhiyi was still feeling uneasy.

She said cautiously, "Mom, have someone keep a close watch."

Liu He hummed in agreement, "Once they’re stored away, they’re our own goods, nothing will go wrong. Let’s go, the kitchen has sent a message asking me to taste test the dishes."

Lin Zhiyi was dragged by her towards the kitchen.

...

Tea room.

Just as Gong Chen entered, Old Mr. Gong put down his teacup.

He said thoughtfully, "Did you come with Lin Zhiyi? How did you end up together?"

"Sang Ran asked me to pick her up," Gong Chen seated himself straightforwardly.

"Did Sang Ran suddenly ask for Lin Zhiyi to come to the Gong Family to accompany her, was that your idea?"

Old Mr. Gong spoke solemnly and raised his hand to pour Gong Chen a cup of tea.

Gong Chen didn’t drink the tea; instead, he lit a cigarette in front of Old Mr. Gong.

With a puff of white smoke by his lips, he said coldly, "They knew each other originally."

He neither denied nor confirmed.

Old Mr. Gong narrowed his eyes and deliberately coughed twice to remind Gong Chen.

However, Gong Chen didn’t snuff out his cigarette and continued to smoke leisurely.

After a few tense seconds, the butler hurriedly came in and whispered into Old Mr. Gong’s ear.

Suddenly, Old Mr. Gong looked up through the fog at Gong Chen, his eyes piercing.

But no matter how carefully he looked, he couldn’t see through Gong Chen’s expression.

Gong Chen snuffed out his half-smoked cigarette and stood up, "Dad, it looks like you’re busy. I’ll head back now."

The door closed.

Old Mr. Gong looked at the untouched tea across from him, his face full of annoyance, and he swept the teacup off the table.

"Heh, he’s playing tricks with me. He didn’t come to have tea with me; he clearly came to tell me that Lin Zhiyi is now backed by the Sang Family! I really underestimated Lin Zhiyi!"

"Old Mr. Gong, should we continue looking for that person?" the butler cautiously asked.

"Look? You probably won’t find anyone even if you dig three feet into the ground."

Old Mr. Gong was furious, his face ashen.

But before she had taken two steps, Gong Chen pulled her back.

"What are you avoiding?"

Lin Zhiyi turned her face away, unwilling to look at him or to talk.

She knew it was childish.

But she didn’t know how else to resist when she felt threatened by him.

"Do you really not want to see me that much?"

"Yes!" Lin Zhiyi responded without hesitation.

She couldn’t see Gong Chen’s expression, but his gaze was so intense it felt almost devouring.

"Don’t want to? I insist you look."

Gong Chen’s tone was frigid, and anger colored his eyes as he forcefully turned her face towards him and kissed her regardless of the situation.

The man’s overpowering possessiveness penetrated Lin Zhiyi from top to bottom.

She trembled all over, her eyes wide with indignation as she stared at him, then bit him hard.

She thought Gong Chen would let go, but he only frowned slightly, then held her head firmly and kissed her deeper, more wildly.

Lin Zhiyi’s mouth filled with a blood taste, and she suddenly remembered the bright red wedding quilt on Gong Chen’s bed.

She also remembered Sang Ran’s hopeful eyes.

She felt truly disgusted!

The repulsion throughout her body turned into a churning in her stomach.

The next second, her throat moved, and she retched.

Gong Chen paused.

She took the opportunity to push him away and supported herself on a pillar to vomit outside along the corridor.

All the food she had eaten came out, leaving her face red and her ears hot, but she still felt nauseous; even when there was nothing left to throw up, she kept retching.

Eventually, she even used her fingers to induce vomiting, not only failing to expel anything but also scratching her own mouth.

Looking at the scene in front of him, Gong Chen’s eyes were as cold as ice.

"Do I disgust you that much?"

"Disgusting! Really disgusting!" Lin Zhiyi tried to wipe her lips.

"Enough." Gong Chen grabbed her wrists, "Who isn’t disgusting then? Sang Li?"

"Yes. Why bother to pretend when you obviously don’t care about anything?" Lin Zhiyi’s eyes reddened, "Can I leave now?"

Yet the man imprisoned her body, his voice low and dangerous, "Lin Zhiyi, let me remind you one last time, stay away from Sang Li."
