When Supervisor Walsh saw Zara Walsh arrive, he was instantly overjoyed.
He quickly pointed at Melody Summers and Lucy White, saying, "Zara, these two have some nerve, daring to cause trouble here! You have to help me teach them a lesson!"
Zara Walsh glanced at Supervisor Walsh and mentally rolled her eyes.
This Supervisor Walsh was a distant relative on her father’s side. He was an incompetent fool, but he’d gotten incredibly lucky and married a good wife.
His wife was from the Rhodes Family, part of the same generation as Mr. Rhodes’s nieces. While not a direct niece, she was at least a familiar face to Mr. Rhodes.
Supervisor Walsh leveraged his father-in-law’s good relationship with Mr. Rhodes to land a minor management position at Rhodes.
Even if Zara didn’t want to bother with this relative, she had to do it for his wife’s sake.
So she said, "Don’t worry, Uncle. I heard everything."
She then turned to Melody Summers and Lucy White, speaking with a condescending air. "You two. Delete that recording, then get on your knees and apologize to my uncle. Do that, and I’ll let you go. Otherwise..."
Zara flicked a lock of her curly hair, her eyes narrowing as she said coldly, "Otherwise, I guarantee you won’t even know how you died!"
Hearing Zara’s threat, Melody Summers just scoffed. "Zara Walsh, are you delusional?"
’Running into Zara here is just my bad luck,’ Melody thought. Mimicking Zara’s tone, she said, "How about the three of you get on your knees, bow your heads, and beg me properly? If you do, maybe I’ll be merciful and delete the video."
Hearing such a blatant provocation, Zara felt a wave of fury surge through her.
No one had ever dared to speak to her like that!
Zara clenched her fists. Looking at Melody’s defiant expression, she was itching to slap her across the face.
But before she could move, Supervisor Walsh jumped in, pointing a finger at Melody’s nose. "You little bitch! How dare you talk like that? Have you grown a death wish?!"
"I remember you’re Warren’s neighbor, aren’t you? Let me tell you something. The energy supply for your entire district in the north... is under the control of the Miss Walsh standing right in front of you!"
Melody froze, blurting out, "What did you say?!"
Seeing Melody’s blank, shocked expression, Supervisor Walsh assumed she was terrified. He gloated, "With a single word from Miss Walsh, she can cut off the supplies to your complex and let every single person there freeze to death!"
Melody’s eyes widened slightly. ’The energy supply for The Metropolis Residences is actually Zara Walsh’s responsibility?’
Before Melody could process this, Supervisor Walsh continued, "Get on your knees now, beg for forgiveness, and hand over your phone. If you do, we might let you off the hook. Otherwise... when the blizzard hits in a few days, you can just wait to freeze to death!"
Having said his piece, Supervisor Walsh stared at Melody with a smug look on his face, waiting for her to get on her knees and beg.
Melody, however, stared intently at the mocking smile on Zara’s face. In that instant, she felt like she’d found the answer.
Melody stared into Zara’s eyes, her face cold as she asked, enunciating every word, "Zara Walsh. There’s a shipment of coal for The Metropolis Residences that was never delivered... Did you withhold it?"
Faced with Melody’s icy gaze, Zara merely scoffed.
