Chapter 200
My children had been through enough. They didn’t deserve to suffer more, especially not at the hands of a madwoman.
“What are you going to do about her?” I asked.
“I haven’t decided yet. But first, there’s something I need to show you.” Andrei reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card, which he handed to me. “The doctor who treated Lilith after her miscarriage gave me this. It’s from a fertility clinic.”
I frowned as I studied the small car. “A fertility clinic? Why would she need-” My words died as the implications hit me. “Andrei, are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
“I don’t know what I’m saying yet. That’s why we need to go there and find out exactly what kind of treatment Lilith was receiving.”
Damon tilted his head. “You think the baby might not have been yours?”
“I think there are too many coincidences for me to ignore.” Andrei’s jaw feathered. “The doctor who treated her after her miscarriage said that she ‘rushed the treatment‘, which was why the miscarriage happened. Now, I’m not entirely sure which treatment he was referring to…”
“But I think we can all guess,” I whispered.
An hour later, Andrei and I were standing outside the Moonlight Fertility Clinic, a sleek glass building nestled between a coffee shop and a boutique in the neutral territory. My palms were sweaty as we walked through the automatic doors into a pristine waiting room decorated in calming blues and whites.
The receptionist looked up with a smile. “Good morning. How can I help you?”
“We need to speak with Dr. Helena,” Andrei said, handing her the business card. “It’s regarding a patient of hers.”
The receptionist’s smile faltered slightly. “I’m sorry, but we can’t discuss patient information without proper authorization-”
“This is Alpha Andrei of Moonshadow,” Andrei interrupted. “And this my Luna I’m discussing.”
Recognition flashed in the woman’s eyes. She picked up her phone and spoke quietly for a moment before hanging up. “Dr. Helena will see you in her office. Third door on the left.”
Dr. Helena was a middle–aged woman with graying hair and a kind face. After giving me a confused look that was quickly overshadowed by something that looked almost like realization and panic, she gestured for us to sit in the chairs across from her desk.
“Alpha, what can I do for you?”
“I need information about Lilith’s treatment here,” Andrei said without preamble. “I believe she was a patient of yours.”
The doctor shifted uncomfortably. “I’m sorry, but patient confidentiality prevents me from-”

“Dr. Helena,” Andrei’s tone grew harder, and I could feel his Alpha power beginning to fill the room, “this woman has committed serious crimes against members of Ashmoor pack, a close ally of Moonshadow, including attempted murder of children. I need to know the details of her treatment here.”
The doctor’s eyes widened. “Attempted murder? I had no idea-”
“The information you provide could be crucial to understanding her motivations,” I added in a slightly softer tone. “Please.”
Dr. Helena was quiet for a long moment, clearly wrestling with her professional obligations. Finally, she sighed and pulled out a thick file from her desk drawer.
“Lilith came to us about two months ago seeking fertility treatments. She said she needed to get pregnant, and quickly.”
“And what kind of treatment did you provide?” Andrei asked.
“Initially, we discussed several options. Hormone therapy, IUI, IVF…” Dr. Helena flipped through the file. “But when we discussed those options, she made it clear that conception through traditional means would be…” Her eyes flicked up to Andrei. “…Challenging.”
My heart started pounding. “What do you mean?”
Her throat bobbed. “She informed me that there was no sexual relationship between you two. Therefore, she requested using donor sperm.”
