Reclaimed By My Alpha (Natalia and Andrei) novel Chapter 289

Natalia’s POV

I was still standing in the training circle, staring at Greta on the ground while the other waris med around me, when David grabbed my arm and pulled me aside.

What the hell was that?he asked, low enough so only I could hear. I’ve seen you fight a dozen times by now That wasn’t normal.

I don’t know.My hands were shaking from a combination of leftover adrenaline and confusion. I showed these into my pockets to hide them and glanced at Greta, who was stumbling to her feet and wandering off with her proverbial tail between her legs. It justhappened.

David’s jaw clenched. He looked me up and down with a knit brow. What is it?I asked, concerned now

He shook his head. Probably nothing, butYou should get that checked out.”

Why?

That might have been your ability showing itself for the first time,David whispered.

But I’m not marked-

I know.David looked confused, perturbed, and excited all at once. Which is why I think you should ask the healers to look at your wolf. Who knows; maybe you’ve got an exceptionally strong wolf that doesn’t need to be marked to have an ability.

Well, that would certainly make life a lot easier, wouldn’t it?

With that, I nodded and headed straight for the medical wing, my mind racing the entire way. From what David and my father had told me about Bloodmoon abilities, I shouldn’t have had one without a mating mark to speak of. But that moment of power had felt unnatural, like a surge of electricity had jolted through my body. It didn’t feel like normal adrenaline or anything of the sort.

Surely it was just a fluke, butI couldn’t help but feel a little excited, wondering if it wasn’t. Perhaps my ability would manifest without a mark. Hell, perhaps it even meant that the twins wouldn’t be doomed not to have abilities, too. But I tried not to dwell too much on it or get my hopes up unnecessarily.

The medical wing was quiet when I arrived. Most of the beds were empty, and only two healers were on duty. I found Max in his usual spot near the window, propped up with pillows and reading a picture book.

Mommy! He set the book aside and grinned at me. Did you come to visit?

Always.I sat on the edge of his bed and pressed my hand to his forehead. Still a bit warm, but better than yesterday. How are you feeling?

Good. The healer said I can try walking tomorrow. Just for a few minutes.Max beamed, showing off a missing tooth beside his canine. Jane’s going to help me.

I bet she will.I ruffled his hair and stood. I’ll be right back.

Max waited in his bed while I found one of the healers. I told her what happened and asked her to perform a

checkup. She was extremely intrigued by my story and excitedly led me to an empty cot, where she got to work

The exam took about twenty minutes. The healer checked my pulse, my reflexes, even had me shift partially to examine my wolf’s vitality. She asked questions about the surgewhen it happened, how long it lasted, what it felt like,

Finally, she stepped back and shook her head. Everything looks normal to me. Your wolf is healthy, but there’s no indication of any abilities manifesting. No unusual energy signatures, no changes in your physical markers.

But I felt it,I insisted. It was real.
