Chapter 340
“Yes, Luna,” the messenger said, then quickly turned and left.
I turned back to Andrei and shut the door behind me. He was drying himself in the mirror, towel no longer covering him, and I practically began to salivate at the sight of his bare ass and cock on full display.
“Do you really think the Lunas will be able to convince the Alphas to change their minds?” Andrei met my gaze in the mirror. I saw a hint of his own desire there as he looked at me, although it was clouded by exhaustion.
I shrugged. “We’ll see. It’s worth a shot, right?” I crossed the room, and now, I was the one who wrapped my arms around Andrei from behind. “Besides, wives often have a way of bending their men to their will.”
Andrei’s mouth lifted. “Like how you’re trying to bend me to your will right now?” he murmured.
“Well, I didn’t ask the Lunas to fuck their husbands into agreeing to a meeting,” I laughed, stepping back. “But if that’s the method they choose, that’s their prerogative.”
Just then, my eye caught the ruby–encrusted knife on the bedside table again. Recalling what I had wanted to show Andrei, I picked it up and slipped it out of the sheath, then faced the wall and held it flat on my palm.
“Watch this.”
Andrei watched with a raised brow as I took a deep breath, channeling my energy into the knife. I imagined the knife turning warm again, the rubies pulsing with that otherworldly light.
But no matter how hard I tried, nothing happened. The knife remained cool and lifeless. Just a normal knife. “Are you going to do a magic trick or something?” Andrei snorted.
I sighed and set the knife aside, suddenly feeling foolish again. Maybe it had really been a trick of the light after all. Maybe some wives‘ tales were just that—tales.
“I was reading about those rubies while you were gone,” I explained, sitting on the edge of the bed. “For a moment yesterday, I thought I got those ones to glow.” I gestured to the knife. “But now I think I’m just going
insane.”
Andrei blinked, glancing between me and the knife. “You got them to… glow.”
“For a few moments, yes. And it turned warm, and I swear it started to… hum a little. With energy.”
Clearly, Andrei didn’t believe me. Not that I could blame him, of course. Such things seemed completely impossible now that I was saying it out loud. I just sounded like a bored, borderline crazy pregnant woman who had imagined things because of fairytales she’d read in books.
But Andrei, to his credit, didn’t judge me for it. He just smiled and crossed over to me, still gloriously, mouth- wateringly nude.
“Well, we’ll try again tomorrow,” he said, dropping to one knee in front of me. His hands came to settle on my hips, the light squeeze of his fingertips sending a fresh jolt of desire running through me. “For now… I think you were in the process of bending me to your will?”
I smirked and took his wrists, pulling him back to his feet. With one swift motion, I stood and spun us, pushing him down onto the bed.
Andrei’s lips parted in shock as I hiked my skirt up around his hips and straddled him, hovering just above the tip of his waiting cock.
“You look exhausted,” I said, slowly lowering myself, “so guess I’ll be on top tonight.”

Andrei grinned devilishly as I seated myself onto him in one easy, familiar motion.

And as we moved together, for the briefest of moments, I could have sworn I saw those rubies glow faintly from across the room.
But that was impossible, wasn’t it?

Chapter 341
Natalia’s POV
The following morning, I found myself back at the bedside table with the ruby–encrusted knife in my hands, turning it over and over as I tried to recreate what had happened the other day.
I’d been at it for nearly an hour, holding the weapon flat on my palm, willing the rubies to glow again with that otherworldly light. But no matter how hard I concentrated, no matter how much I tried to channel whatever energy I’d felt before, the knife remained stubbornly cool and lifeless,
“Come on,” I muttered under my breath, lifting the blade and pointing it toward the wall again. “Stab that wall. Cut something, Do anything”
Nothing
I lowered the knife with a heavy sigh. Maybe I really had imagined the whole thing, Maybe pregnancy hormones were making me see things that weren’t there, making me believe in fairy tales when I had far more pressing matters to worry about.
The sound of metal clashing against metal drew my attention to the window, I crossed the room and peered down at the training grounds, where at least a dozen warriors were sparring in pairs. From this distance, I could see their movements clearly–and what I saw made me frown.
Their technique was… adequate, I supposed. But barely. They were using basic defensive stances that would work fine against untrained rogues, but against the kind of organized, vicious attacks we’d been facing lately? They’d be slaughtered.
Without really thinking about it, I got dressed in my training leathers, grabbed my curved sword, and heading downstairs. The morning air was crisp against my skin as stepped into the courtyard, and several of the warriors paused their sparring to look at me with surprise.
“Luna,” one of them said, lowering his sword. “Are you here to watch?”
“Actually,” I said, crossing my arms, “I’m here to help. What you’re doing isn’t going to work against the rogues we’ve been facing”
The warrior raised an eyebrow, “With respect, Luna, we’ve been training like this for years. These techniques have served us well.”
“Perhaps, but these rogues fight viciously, not with honor. You’re all leaving yourselves wide open, assuming that the rogues won’t use dirty methods to win.” I pulled out my curved sword.
“I learned some things while I was at Bloodmoon,” I explained. “Their warriors train differently. More aggressively. More… fluidly.” I gestured to the first warrior. “Spar with me. I’ll show you.”
