Regretting the Wife He Threw Away novel Chapter 757

Briony was sitting on the bed with a magazine resting on her lap. When she saw him come out, she said, "Dry your hair completely before you get in bed, or you'll catch a cold."

Stewart agreed. But after his hair was dry, he walked to the bed, sat down, and pulled Briony onto his lap. With a startled cry, Briony dropped the magazine.

"Stewart!" she exclaimed, annoyed. "Do you want your hand to heal or not?"

Stewart kissed her delicate cheek. "Bryn, can I hold you while we sleep?"

Briony frowned and pushed his face away. "No."

"Just hold you. I promise I won't do anything else."

Considering the man's past behavior in bed, Briony found his words utterly unconvincing. It wasn't that she was opposed to being intimate with him, but she was worried about his hand. "Stewart, go back to your own room."

"I don't want to," Stewart murmured, burying his face in the soft, fragrant crook of her neck, inhaling her unique scent. His throat bobbed, his voice low and magnetic. "We haven't slept together in five years."

Briony remained firm. "A few more days won't make a difference. Besides, there’s no protection in your room, and I won’t let you take that risk."

At that, Briony paused. It was true. As a single woman, she wouldn't have condoms in her bedroom. And with her just having recovered and Stewart’s hand still injured, he wouldn't really be reckless. No matter how much he wanted her, he would hold back.
