Rejected and Pregnant I Fled The Pack (Evelyn and Damon) novel Chapter 252

Nadia pov

I settled into the chair across from Robert's desk, genuine dread still churning heavy in my chest from the messages Ethan had just shown him, watching as Robert's expression hardened with matching fury and concern.

"Show me exactly what they sent," Robert said, and Ethan passed him the phone, watching as Robert scrolled through the disturbing exchange, his jaw tightening progressively with each additional message he read.

"They're claiming to have someone embedded within our own systems," Robert said grimly, handing the phone back. "That's genuinely serious, Ethan. If accurate, this represents considerably more sophisticated threat than we'd previously understood."

"I know," Ethan said, frustration evident in his voice. "Which means every conversation, every planning session—we can't genuinely trust our own communications remain secure."

Robert immediately reached for his own phone, already dialing, his voice carrying sharp, absolute authority as the call connected. "I need immediate, comprehensive review of every individual with access to our recent security discussions," he said, presumably addressing Callum directly. "Understand exactly who's had opportunity to actually leak sensitive planning information."

I barely had time to actually process the genuine weight of what he was requesting before a sharp knock interrupted the tense atmosphere, and one of the border patrol warriors burst through the door, his expression carrying obvious, immediate urgency.

"Alpha," he said, his breathing still labored from what appeared to be a considerable run, "we found this at the eastern border. Left specifically where our patrol would discover it."

He held out a sealed envelope, and Robert took it carefully, his expression tightening as he examined the exterior.

"It's addressed to you specifically," he said, glancing toward me, and I felt my stomach drop entirely at that confirmation.

He handed it over, and I stared at my own name written across the front in careful, deliberate handwriting, understanding this represented something considerably more personal and calculated than their previous text messages.

"Should I open it," I asked, my voice carrying more uncertainty than I intended.
