Ash immediately looked at her mother. “Mom, there seems to be something wrong with this drink. Tell everyone to stop drinking. Who is in charge of catering today?”
Brooke glanced at the sparkling water in the cup. “It should all be from the venue. We paid an all–inclusive fee directly. What’s the problem?”
“I’m just asking. Don’t worry about this. But tell everyone not to eat or drink for now. I need to ensure something.”
Ash and Calvert went to the kitchen and found the person in charge. He was a middle–aged man of medium height. Ash glanced at his nameplate and said, “Mr. Swanson, are you in charge of catering today?”
The man named Dimitri Swanson nodded. “It’s me, what’s the matter? Is there something wrong?”
“Something is wrong with the drink on the long table under the canopy. The sparkling water has a pungent sour taste. Did anyone put something in it?”
Dimitri thought and answered, “I added some herbs and lemon. The weather is scorching today and I’m worried you might suffer from heat stroke.”
Then, Dimitri reached out and took a glass of water. “Please, smell it. Is it this smell? I’ll drink it for you if you’re not at ease.”
Dimitri drank the small half glass of water without waiting for Ash to speak.
“We don’t need these, replace all of them with normal sparkling water, or any normal drinks you have,” Calvert ordered.
Dimitri immediately replied, “Will do, I’ll have someone replace it now. Do you have any other requests? Indeed, we are doing this without consulting you, and we’re sorry for that.”
The problem was solved, and they returned to the main hall. The other Turner family members had arrived, and the place became lively.
But everyone looked at Ash when they saw her. She might be a newcomer, but she was the lost princess of the family.
Naturally, Ash would become the center of attention. But she did not have the energy to face them. From childhood to adulthood, she always attracted attention because of her outstanding appearance and skills.
“They added some herbs and lemon for our good. Why did you change it?” Someone asked.
When Lachlan arrived, he heard this discussion and joined in, “But the menu I mentioned before didn’t say anything else about the ingredients. Ash did this for the comfort of all of us.
“What if something bad happened because of this? Will you bear the consequences?” Lachlan, the next successor of the Turner family, spoke firmly.
When Lachlan spoke, the picky person reluctantly fell silent. He didn’t dare to say a word.
“Lachlan, it’s okay. I’m just looking after our family’s safety. As for the other relatives, they can choose to drink it if they want.” Ash didn’t even look at those who were talking behind her back.
Someone was displeased by Ash’s remark. “Your family’s safety? Aren’t we your family? Today is a family gathering. Why would we come here if it weren’t for that reason?”
“Do you want to fight or keep picking on Ash?” Jackson’s hair was combed today, and he looked different.

Ash’s heart felt warm. She knew her other relatives held grudges against each other but couldn’t say it out loud. After all, family interests were more important.
But her two older brothers put her before the family’s interests, and she was the most important to them.
The relatives were dissatisfied and were about to say something, but Calvert spoke first, “Is everyone here now? When will the event start?”
Finally, the organizers had the opportunity to speak, “The first game is shooting. Each family can send two people to participate in the competition, and the first place can get ownership of a modeling company.”
As soon as the words came out, everyone was excited. The awards were far better than the previous year. It was ownership of a company, equivalent to obtaining a company for no reason.
Even Calvert was slightly surprised. He didn’t expect the Turner family to spend money so lavishly on a family gathering. Although they were rich, competing over ownership in a shooting challenge seemed too much.
Ash leaned over and whispered, “I’m counting on you. We can’t let them have a modeling agency. It’s so painful to give it away for nothing.“,
Calvert looked at her slightly sideways. They looked ambiguous. If seen from a distance, it seemed the two had already kissed.
Calvert opened his mouth, and a warm breath sprayed on Ash’s face. “Relying on me? I’m not part of this family now. Are you sure they will agree if I win?
“Moreover, your relatives seem to have strong opinions of you,” Calvert said lightly with a cold expression.
“It doesn’t matter if they have any opinions or not. Their thoughts don’t matter to me. This company has a lot of money, and we must get it.” Ash suddenly looked greedy.
Calvert’s lips smiled. “Do they know that you love money so much? If they knew, they would think your previous family had mistreated you.”
“Love of money and cruel treatment are different. Your subjective opinion is a bit too serious, and I disagree. Besides, doesn’t everyone love money? Why are we here deceiving each other if you don’t love money?
“No matter what, please use that ‘so so‘ skill.” Ash patted his back lightly. “I’m relying on you.”
From Alison’s view, they seemed to be kissing each other and muttered, “What are you doing in broad daylight? Gross! You need to find a room.”
Ash took Calvert’s arm and leaned on the man’s shoulder. “You wouldn’t understand because you’re still single, Sister. Find a partner first, then you’ll understand.”
“Oh, shut up! You’re the one lacking manners. And stop calling me sister, we’re not that close.” Alison bit her lower lip. She did not know why Ash was so shameless.
Meanwhile, Ash looked innocent. “Aren’t we related? What should I call you if I don’t call you my sister? You name it, Sister
