Chapter 244
Ash’s bright eyes rolled, her lips curled into a slightly mocking smile. “Us? You mean you and me?”

“Who else would I mean?” Calvert asked, one hand in his pocket, his head slightly lowered, his expression somewhat aloof as he glanced at her.
She gave a small “oh.” “Sorry, I have a date.”
Ash was also a woman of temper. Calvert had been so unpredictable with her, on–again, off–again. Shouldn’t she give him a taste of his own medicine?
Calvert hooked his lips into a smirk. ‘Does she think I would forgive so easily?
“That will be too easy and casual
“What date? Vanessa is gone,” Calvert said, determined not to let her leave.
Ash rolled her eyes at him without any attempt to hide it. “So? Just because Vanessa is gone doesn’t mean I can’t have a date. I’m also a CEO. Don’t I get to have a full schedule?
“Mr. Snider, are you looking down on me?”
Calvert was momentarily silent before speaking, “You know what I mean. We need to talk about what happened last time, about Jade.”
What happened last time?
Even then, Ash still couldn’t understand why he was mad. He got mad and stormed off for no reason. It wasn’t like she was his subordinate or owed him anything.
Ash snorted, “Jade? I’m sorry, but I don’t think there’s anything to talk about. Regarding Jade, you can go to her. She’s probably still at your place. Go home and talk to her.”
Calvert frowned slightly. “I have nothing to do with her. Why would I go and talk with her? Ash, you know exactly what I mean.”
Ash smirked, “What do you mean? I really have no idea. Do you think you’re being clear? You were the one who brought up Jade. If you hadn’t mentioned her, I naturally wouldn’t have suggested you go talk to her.”
Ash felt like they were playing a game of twisted words, going back and forth without getting to the point. They were both masters of communication logic, but every time they met, they ended up being unable to explain things clearly. The smallest things would escalate into arguments.
Ash sighed, “Calvert, please don’t forget what kind of relationship we have. Since it’s a professional one, I think it’s best if we interact less sometimes.”
As Ash spoke those words, her heart ached with a bittersweet pang. She couldn’t understand where this feeling came from or why it was there.
Calvert’s expression froze, and the words he was about to say were stuck in his throat. He said coldly, “Yes, we are in a cooperative relationship. Thank you for reminding me. I almost forgot.”
“In that case, I’ll leave you to it.” Calvert suddenly felt his behavior was a bit ridiculous. He came specifically to explain to Ash, but Ash obviously didn’t care.

Chapter 244
He thought she was unhappy, but she wasn’t. She just regarded him as a partner.
Since they were partners, he shouldn’t say too much.
Ash’s expression was indifferent, but her heart was extremely irritable. She nodded slightly, and the two passed each other.
“Ms. Turner, there is a friend of yours in the reception room, who said he is here to see you? The avistant dideft notice the change in Ash’s mood and came over to tell her,
Ash waved her hand, indicating that she knew, and walked towards the reception room. As soon as the opened the door, the found it was William. “What brings you here?”
“Long time no see, Ash. I miss you.” William was not wearing a suit and leather shoes today, but casual clothes, which showed his real age.
Usually, Ash would start joking, but today, she was not in the mood. She sat down opposite him and let out a listless ‘ch?
William moved forward a little and looked at her. “Ash, what’s wrong? You seem to be in a bad mood. Did something happen?”
“The company is not doing well? Or is the project in trouble?” William saw her frowning and was worried. “I have a friend who works in investment projects. I can ask him to help.”
She shook her head and closed her eyes slightly. “It’s okay. There are enough people on the project here. You came here suddenly. Is something wrong with Shadow Ventures?”
William paused for a while and joked, “Didn’t I just say it? I miss you, Ash.”
“Are you possessed?” Ash leaned on the sofa and looked at him with half–closed eyes, “You are strange. If you are possessed. go and see a spirit medium”
William’s eyes showed a hint of unconcealable loss. “Ash, I was just joking. Why do you think I am possessed?”
“Because what you said was scary, not something you would say.” Ash’s mind kept flashing images of Calvert, and she abruptly changed the subject, “Are you men all like this? So weird.”
