CHAPTER 151-1
Alpha Darius’s POV
I looked across my desk at the wedding dress designer, a small woman with sharp eyes and hands that moved constantly as she spoke. She’d traveled a long way to get here, and I could see the exhaustion in
her face.
“I understand you need this done quickly,” she said, pulling out a tablet covered in sketches. “But creating
a custom gown in such a short time frame…”
“Money isn’t an issue,” I interrupted. “I told you on the phone I’m willing to pay five times your usual rate.”
Her eyes widened slightly. Most people got that look when they realized just how serious I was about
getting Clara everything she wanted.
“Five times the rate,” she repeated. “For a completely custom design.”
“For the perfect dress,” I corrected. “My mate deserves nothing less than perfection on our ceremony day.”
The designer nodded quickly, making notes on her tablet. “Of course, Alpha. I’ll need to take
measurements as soon as possible to get started.”
“Clara is out on her morning run right now,” I said, glancing at the clock on my wall. “She should be back
within the hour. You can take the measurements then.”
“Perfect,” the designer said. “I have some initial sketches based on what you told me about her
preferences. Would you like to see them?”
She turned the tablet toward me, showing delicate drawings of flowing gowns with intricate details. Each one was beautiful, but I found myself imagining Clará in them, trying to picture which one would make her
eyes light up.
“This one,” I said, pointing to a design with elegant sleeves and a train that would flow behind her as she
walked. “She’ll love this one.”
ľ
The designer smiled. “Excellent choice. The beadwork alone will take days, but with my team working around the clock, we can have it ready.”
“How many people do you need?” I asked.
“At least six seamstresses working in shifts,” she said. “Plus specialists for the beadwork and embroidery.”
“Done,” I said without hesitation. “Whatever you need. I’ll send vehicles to transport your team here
immediately.”
The designer looked surprised at the offer, but nodded gratefully. “That would be incredibly helpful, Alpha. I’ll contact them right away.”
“I don’t care about the cost,” I said firmly. “I care about my mate having the dress of her dreams on the

most important day of our lives.”

She nodded, making more notes. “I’ll contact my team immediately. We can have everything set up by tonight if your drivers can reach them by afternoon.”
“My fastest drivers are at your disposal,” I assured her. “Just give me the addresses and they’ll be picked
up within hours.”
The designer gathered her things, still looking slightly overwhelmed by the scope of what we’d discussed.
“Alpha,” she said as she reached the door. “I’ve made dresses for many important occasions, but I’ve never
seen a groom more devoted to making everything perfect.”
“Clara is worth it,” I said simply.
After she left, I immediately called my head of transportation and arranged for multiple vehicles to collect
the seamstresses from various locations. Money was no object when it came to Clara’s happiness.
I settled back into my chair and tried to focus on the stack of paperwork waiting for me. Pack business didn’t stop just because I was getting married, and there were still border patrol reports to review and
supply requests to approve.
But my mind kept drifting to Clara. To the way she’d looked this morning when she’d kissed me goodbye
before her run. To the excitement in her voice when we’d talked about the ceremony planning. To how
radiant she’d look walking toward me in that perfect dress.
I’d never imagined I could feel this way about anyone. The mate bond was powerful, but what I felt for Clara went beyond that. Even without the goddess’s intervention, I would have chosen her. I would have fought for her.
The morning had been productive despite my distraction. I’d approved three new security measures for the ceremony, finalized the guest list with my beta, and arranged for additional guards to be stationed throughout the territory during the celebration.
Hours passed without me really noticing. The paperwork słowly got smaller, phone calls were made, decisions were reached. Normal Alpha duties that kept the pack running smoothly. [

CHAPTER 151-2
But as the morning stretched into aftemoon, something started to feel wrong.
It began as a small nagging feeling in the back of my mind. A sense that something was missing, like
when you walk into a room and can’t remember what you came there for.
Then it grew stronger. A hollow ache in my chest that hadn’t been there before.
I tried to shake it off, telling myself it was just pre–ceremony nerves. Getting married was a big step, even
when you were completely sure about your choice.
But the feeling kept getting worse. Like a piece of my soul had been carved out and taken away.
I reached out through the mate bond, trying to connect with Claras mind the way I had been able to since
we’d completed the marking.
Nothing.
Not the warm, comforting presence I’d grown used to feeling. Not even the distant sense of her that!
could usually detect when she was focused on something else.
Just emptiness.
I tried again, pushing harder, sending more energy through the connection.
Still nothing.
A cold dread started to settle in my stomach. Clara should have been back from her run hours ago. Even
her longest runs never took more than two hours, and it had been at least four.
Just as I was reaching for my phone to call her, there was an urgent knock on my office door.
“Come in,” I called.
Xander burst in, his face grim. “Alpha, we had a situation at the western border.”
I looked up from my desk, immediately alert. “What kind of situation?”
“A rogue tried to infiltrate our territory,” Xander said. “The patrol team engaged him, but something strange
happened.”
“Define strange,” I said, standing up.
“He kept trying to escape, running in circles like he was buying time for something. When our warriors finally cornered him, he just… dropped dead.”
I frowned. “Heart attack? Injury from the chase?”
“That’s what we thought at first,” Xander said. “But there were no visible wounds, and he was young,
healthy. The way he died was…” He paused, searching for words “Unnatural. Like something just stopped working inside him.”
