CHAPTER 177
Clara’s POV
I woke to the feeling of being watched.
My eyes fluttered open to find Darius propped up on one elbow beside me, his blue eyes studying my face with that intense focus that always made my stomach flutter.
“How long have you been staring at me?” I mumbled, my voice still rough from sleep and the previous night’s activities.
“Long enough,” he said, a small smile playing at his lips. “You’re beautiful when you sleep.”
I groaned and tried to roll away from him, but my body protested every movement. Every muscle ached in the most delicious way, reminders of exactly how thoroughly he’d claimed me.
“I can barely move,” I complained, though there was no real irritation in my voice. “You completely wore me out.”
His smile turned wicked. “I could always help wake you up properly. I’m definitely up for round two.”
I could feel the evidence of his words pressing against my thigh, and despite my body’s protests, heat pooled low in my belly.
“Absolutely not,” I said, pushing weakly at his chest. “I need coffee. And food. And possibly a hot bath before I can even think about moving normally.”
He chuckled, pressing a kiss to my temple. “Fair enough. But I’m making no promises about later.”
After a long shower that helped ease some of the delicious aches in my muscles, I dressed and made my way downstairs. The compound was already buzzing with activity, warriors from different packs moving with purpose across the grounds.
I grabbed coffee and a quick breakfast, my mind already shifting to the day’s priorities. There were training exercises to oversee, strategy meetings to attend, and the ongoing tension between the visiting Alphas to
manage.
By the time I reached the training grounds that morning, both Lucien and Killian were there with their warriors arranged in formations that looked more like battle preparations than training exercises.
The tension in the air was thick enough to cut.
“Good morning, Clara,” Lucien called out.
“Morning,” Killian added, but his attention was fixed on Lucien’s team.
I could see this was about to become something bigger than a training exercise. This was about to become a competition with me as the prize.
“Gentlemen,” I said loudly enough for everyone to hear “I think we need to talk.”

Both men inmediately gave me their full attention, as did every warrior within hearing distance.

“I know what you’re both doing,” I continued, making sure my voice carried the authority of someone who expected to be taken seriously. “The gifts, the special attention, the carefully timed appearances. You’re
courting me.”
Neither man denied it, which I had to respect.
“But I’m not interested in being treated like some prize you can win with romantic gestures and
demonstrations of prowess,” I said firmly. “I refuse to be fought over like a trophy.”
Lucien’s expression grew serious. “That wasn’t our intention, Clara.”
“Wasn’t it?” I challenged. “Then what was this sparring match really about?”
Both men had the grace to look slightly embarrassed.
“We wanted to show you what we could offer,” Killian said. “As partners.”
“Then prove your worth through action, not words,” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. “If you want
my attention, my respect, or anything else from me, show me what your packs can really do for this coalition we’re building.”
The challenge hung in the air between us.
“What kind of action?” Lucien asked, his dark eyes gleaming with interest.
“Show me your best warriors, your best resources, your best strategies,” I said. “Prove that partnering with you would actually benefit our war against Jaden.”
Killian’s smile was sharp and competitive. “Are you/challenging us?”
“I’m telling you reality,” I said. “We’re going to war. I need to know that my allies are capable of more than
just romantic gestures.”
And with those words, I started something that would change everything.
The change was immediate and dramatic. Both men straightened, their competitive instincts fully
engaged.
“Very well,” Lucien said, his voice carrying the authority of an Alpha who expected immediate obedience.
“You want to see what we can really do.”
“Challenge accepted,” Killian agreed, his green eyes bright with anticipation.
Within hours both men were on their phones making demands that echoed across the compound. Lucien
was calling in his elite Red Moon warriors while Killian recruited specialists and tacticians. The fight between them became a driving force that pushed both men to go beyond anything they’d originally planned to give to our alliance.
Ronan, hearing about the competition, stepped up his own game. Even Darius expanded his contributions,

Clates
Over the next few days our compound transformed into something that looked like it could take over countries. Lucien’s reinforcements arrived first, warriors who moved like deadly poetry with weapons that looked like art but could slice through steel. Killian’s specialists came with gear that looked futuristic, running drills so complex they made my head spin.
Ronan’s contribution was raw, devastating power. His warriors looked like they could punch through
mountains.
By the end of the week we had over six hundred warriors from four major packs plus allies I hadn’t even known we had. The training grounds never stopped being busy.
What impressed me most was how the competition between Lucien and Killiart was making everyone better. Each Alpha was trying to outdo the others, bringing their absolute best to prove their worth.
