CHAPTER 234-2

I pushed the door open and stumbled inside. The bed was massive, clearly meant for an Alpha. The room smelled like all of them. Rine and smoke and earth and something warm that made my wolf purr despite

the pain.

I collapsed onto the bed facefirst, not bothering with my torn, bloodsoaked clothes. Didn’t have the energy. Could barely think past the heat consuming me from the inside out.

My broken leg throbbed and the wounds from the fight burned, but all of it was distant compared to the overwhelming need of my first heat.

Footsteps approached in the hallway. Four sets, moving in perfect synchronization. They stopped just

outside the door.

I could feel them standing there, feel their hesitation, their wolves clawing to get in, their human sides holding back just enough to wait for permission. The air in the room changed, became charged with tension, with need, with the weight of a decision that would change everything.

Through the mate bonds, I felt their struggle. Each of them fighting their wolves, fighting the pull of my heat, fighting their own desperate need to claim what was theirs. But they waited because this had to be my choice. After everything that had happened, after all the ultimatums and demands and impossible decisions, this moment belonged to me alone.

They were asking, waiting for me to choose.

I turned my head, looking toward the doorway through the tangle of my hair. My vision was hazy with heat, but I could see them clearly enough.

Darius stood in front, his blue eyes burning with barely controlled need. His hands were clenched at his sides, every muscle tight with the effort of not moving. I could see his chest rising and falling rapidly, could see the way his jaw was locked so tight it had to hurt.

Killian was beside him, jaw locked, green eyes tracking my every breath. His usual cocky confidence was gone, replaced by something raw and vulnerable. He looked like a man standing on the edge of a cliff, waiting to see if he’d fall or fly.

Lucien’s dark gaze was intense enough to feel from across the room. His hands were fisted at his sides, knuckles white. The normally controlled Alpha looked like he was barely holding himself together, his wolf

so close to the surface I could see it in his eyes.

Ronan stood slightly behind the others, conflict written across his features even as his wolf pushed to the surface. His hazel eyes held mine, and I saw everything there. The guilt, the desire, the desperate hope that I wouldn’t send him away.

All four of them, waiting, wanting, mine. But more than that, they were asking, really asking. Not

demanding, not taking just standing there and letting me decide even though it was clearly tearing them

apart to wait.

The silence stretched between us, heavy with unspoken questions.

I held their gazes, looking at each of them in turn. Darius, who’d given me strength when I had none.

Killian, who’d challenged me to be better. Lucien, who’d seen the darkness in me and hadn’t turned away.

Ronan, who’d been honest even when it hurt.

Four mates. Four bonds. Four threads pulling at my soul. The goddess had done this, had woven our fates

together in a way that defied tradition, defied logic, defied everything I’d been taught about how mate

bonds worked.

And I was done fighting it. Done trying to choose. Done pretending I could cut away pieces of my soul to make everyone else comfortable.

I couldn’t speak, couldn’t form words past the heat burning through me, but I didn’t need to.

I held their gazes and gave the smallest nod. Just a tiny dip of my chin. But it wasn’t directed at just one of

them. It was for all of them.

I watched as understanding dawned across their faces, saw the moment they realized what I was offering,

what I was accepting. Not one mate. All of them.

Darius’s eyes widened slightly. Killian sucked in a sharp breath. Lucien’s hands unclenched. Ronan’s expression shifted from conflict to something like wonder.

For a heartbeat, none of them moved. They just stood there, staring at me like they couldn’t quite believe

what was happening.

Then Darius looked at the other three. Some silent/communication passed between them, an understanding, an acceptance, a decision made in that single shared glance.

When Darius turned back to me, something had changed in his expression. The possessive jealousy was still there, but it was tempered now by something else. Something that looked almost like surrender.

He stepped forward. The others followed. They entered the Alpha’s chamber together, moving as one unit,

and closed the door behind them with a soft click that sounded final in the quiet.

The room suddenly felt smaller with all of them inside. The air grew thicker, charged with the scent of four Alphas and one Luna in heat.

They didn’t rush forward, didn’t pounce or grab. They just stood there for a moment, surrounding the bed,
