CHAPTER 36

Darius’s POV

I stared at the door Clara had just slipped through, my c**k still sensitive, my wolf still snarling beneath my skin. The air in my office reeked of sex, of her, of us.

Just the beginning, she’d said. Like this was a game she intended to win.

I zipped up my pants and straightened my shirt, a reluctant smile tugging at my lips. Most wolves cowered when I growled. She’d sucked my c**k while maintaining eye contact.

The desk was a mess. Papers scattered, a pen knocked to the floor, and the unmistakable scent of Clara’s arousal lingering on the wood. The floor beneath wasn’t any betterher slick, my cum, evidence of what we’d done still glistening on the polished tiles.

I couldn’t leave it like this. Every wolf with a functioning nose would know exactly what had happened the

moment they walked in.

Xander,I sent through the mindlink, reaching for my secondincommand’s thoughts. Send one of the cleaning omegas to my office. Immediately.

His response came quickly, no questions asked. Yes, Alpha. Right away.

In my pack, everyone had a role that suited their strengths. The omegas weren’t treated as lesserjust different. Some served as healers, others as caregivers for pups. A few, like the cleaning staff, handled the pack house maintenance. They were respected for their work, essential to our functioning.

But right now, I needed one who could be discrete.

I moved to the windows, throwing them open to let the cool air sweep through the room. Maybe it would

clear some of the scent before the omega arrived. I doubted it. Wolf noses didn’t miss much, especially

not the thick musk of sex and release.

My thoughts drifted back to Clara. The defiance in her eyes even as she knelt between my legs. The way

she’d taken control of the situation despite being the one under the desk. The boldness of her escape.

That was just the beginning of my payback.

My c**k twitched at the memory of her words, already interested again despite having come twice in the last hour. What was it about this woman that kept me constantly on edge? I’d had my share of lovers over

the yearsnone of them affected me like this. None of them challenged me like she did.

A soft knock interrupted my thoughts.

Enter,I called, moving behind my desk to create some semblance of normalcy.

The door opened, and a young female omega stepped inside, her eyes downcast respectfully. Lilyone of the newer additions to the cleaning staff. Good. She was quiet, efficient, and not prone to gossip.

You requested cleaning services, Alpha?she asked, her voice soft but not timid.

I nodded, watching as her nostrils flared slightly, taking in the heavy scent that permeated the room. To her credit, her expression remained neutral, professional.

The office needs a thorough cleaning,I said, unnecessarily. It was obvious why she’d been called. I’ll be working while you take care of it.

Of course, Alpha. She moved to the supply closet in the corner, gathering what she needed with practiced efficiency.

I turned my attention to the reports Luka had left, trying to focus on the potential threat to our territory. Unknown predators. Unusual tracks. Blood of unidentified origin. It was concerning, especially with the full

moon approaching.

But my mind kept drifting back to Clara. The heat of her mouth. The challenge in her eyes. The promise of

more.

You won’t know when or where I’ll strike. Just that I will.

My c**k hardened again at the thought. I shifted in my chair, trying to focus on the maps in front of me.

The eastern ridge. Patrol routes. Security protocols.

Behind me, Lily worked quietly, the gentle sounds of cleaning a backdrop to my wandering thoughts. She’d

moved to the floor beneath the desk now, tackling the evidence of what had transpired there not thirty

minutes ago.

In the corner of my eye, I caught her slight grimace as she encountered the stillwet proof of my encounter

with Clara. Again, she said nothing, just continued her work with quiet determination.

Shame wasn’t an emotion I was familiar with, but something uncomfortably close to it prickled at the back

of my neck. This wasn’t how I typically behaved. I didn’t fuck women in my office in the middle of the day. I

didn’t leave messes for others to clean up.

Clara was changing the rules, and I was letting her.

I stared down at the report, the words blurring together. Her scent still clung to me, distracting,

intoxicating. I needed to clear my head.

Finish up here,I told Lily, rising from my chair. I’ll be in my quarters.

She nodded, not looking up from her task. Yes, Alpha.

I strode from the office, ignoring the curious glances from pack members as I made my way through the corridors. Did they know? Could they smell her on me? Did it matter?

My private quarters were on the top floor of the pack house, separate from the rest. A place where I could be alone with my thoughts, away from the constant demands of leadership.

I stripped as soon as the door closed behind me, peeling off clothes still carrying Clara’s scent. The

shower was scalding hot, steam filling the bathroom as I stepped under the spray. I scrubbed every inch of my skin, trying to wash away the lingering traces of her.

It didn’t work. I could still taste her on my tongue, still feel the ghost of her mouth around my c**k. Each memory sent fresh heat surging through my veins.

I braced one hand against the shower wall, the other wrapping around my shaft. It wouldn’t take muchl was already hard again, still sensitive from earlier. A few rough strokes and I could take the edge off, clear my head enough to think straight.

My phone rang, the sound cutting through the rush of water.

I growled in frustration, shutting off the shower and grabbing a towel. The phone continued its insistent ringing as I stalked into the bedroom, water still dripping from my body.
