CHAPTER 76-1
Alpha Killian’s POV
The omega led me through several corridors before stopping at a door near the end of the hall. “This is the main guest suite, Alpha Killian. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
“Thank you,” I replied, taking the key from her. “I appreciate your help.”
She bowed respectfully and walked away, leaving me alone in the hallway. I unlocked the door and stepped inside, taking a quick look around the room.
The guest suite was impressive. A large bed dominated the space, with comfortable seating areas and a
private bathroom. Everything was clean and well–appointed, exactly what I would expect from Darius’s
pack.
But I couldn’t focus on the accommodations. My mind was completely occupied with thoughts of Clara.
The moment our eyes had met in the training ring, something had shifted inside me. My wolf had recognized her immediately as our mate, and now every instinct I had was demanding that I find her
again.
I set my travel bag on the bed and tried to settle in, but it was useless. The need to see Clara again was overwhelming. Her scent was still lingering in my memory, driving me to distraction.
After only a few minutes in the room, I couldn’t stand it anymore. I had to find her.
I stepped back out into the hallway and quietly closed the door behind me. The packhouse was large, but ! had an advantage. I could follow her scent.
I took a deep breath, sorting through the various scents in the air until I found the one that made my wolf go crazy. Sweet and wild, with that underlying power that marked her as something special.
The trail led me back toward the main areas of the packhouse I followed it carefully, trying to look casual
1 in case anyone noticed me wandering around. The last thing I needed was for Darius to think I was snooping through his territory.
As I got closer to the source of the scent, I could hear voices. Clara was talking to someone, her voice carrying that same confidence I had heard during her training session.
I found her in a side hallway, speaking with two other pack members about something related to patrol schedules. She had changed out of her training clothes and was now wearing a simple shirt and jeans that somehow made her look even more attractive.
The urge to claim her was engulfing me. Every fiber of my being wanted to walk over there, pull her into my arms, and mark her as mine. The mate bond was demanding action, pushing me to establish our connection immediately.
But I forced myself to wait. Clara was engaged in pack business, and interrupting her would draw

unwanted attention. I needed to be patient, to wait for the right moment.
positioned myself where i could watch her without being too obvious about it. She was discussing guard rotations with the other warriors, her voice clear and authoritative. It was obvious that she held a position of respect within the pack
The conversation continued for several more minutes before the other pack members finally moved on to their duties. Clara started walking down the hallway, heading toward what looked like the residential wing of the packhouse.
This was my chance.
I followed her at a distance, waiting until she turned into a smaller corridor that was empty of other people. The moment we were alone, I moved quickly.
I caught up to her in three long strides and pushed her against the wail, pinning her there with my body. Her back was pressed against the stone, and I could feel the heat radiating from her skin.
“What the hell,” she gritted out, her voice filled with anger. “I hate being cornered all the time. This is getting really old.”
All the time. That phrase caught my attention immediately.
I leaned closer to her ear, my voice dropping to a whisper. “Who else does this?”
She tried to spin around to face me, but I pressed her further into the wall, keeping her back against my chest. I wasn’t ready to let her see my face yet.
“Let me go right now,” she demanded, her voice sharp with irritation. “I don’t know who you think you are, but this is completely inappropriate.”

CHAPTER 76-2
Her anger was genuine, and I could feel her body tensing as she prepared to fight back. This wasn’t the submissive response I might have expected from some women. Clara was a warrior, and she was ready to defend herself.
“You’re being incredibly rude,” she continued, her voice getting sharper. “Get your hands off me before I make you regret it.”

hat was a mistake,” she snarled, immediately trying another attack.
This time she attempted to stomp on my foot while simultaneously trying to break free of my grip. Her movements were fluid and calculated, showing years of combat training.
I had to admire her spirit, even as I blocked her attacks. She wasn’t going to submit easily, and honestly, I didn’t want her to. This fire, this determination to fight back, was part of what made her so attractive.
“You’re very good at this,” I murmured against her ear, easily restraining her attempts to break free. “But I’m
better.”
“I doubt that,” she shot back, trying to slam her head backward into my face.

CHAPTER I
Heaned down and bit her neck. Hard.
Not hard enough to break the skin, but definitely hard enough to send a clear message about dominance and possession. The bite was right on the sensitive spot where mates typically marked each other, and the effect was immediate.
Clara went completely still, a sharp gasp escaping her lips I could feel the exact moment when the pain transformed into something else entirely.
Her body, which had been tense with anger and preparation for cornbat, suddenly melted against mine. The change was dramatic and unmistakable.
“What…” she breathed, her voice completely different now. The anger was gone, replaced by confusion and something that sounded almost like pleasure.
I held the bite for several more seconds, applying just enough pressure to make my point clear. When I finally released her neck, I could see the small indentations my teeth had left on her skin.
“Better?” I asked, my voice rough with satisfaction.
She didn’t answer immediately. I could feel her trying to process what had just happened, trying to understand why her body had responded so dramatically to what should have been a painful attack.
The fight had gone out of her completely. Instead of trying to escape or attack me again, she was leaning back against me, her breathing shallow and uneven.
“I don’t understand,” she whispered, her voice shaky.
“You will,” I promised, pressing a gentle kiss to the spot where I had bitten her. “Eventually.”
The bite had done exactly what I hoped it would. It had short–circuited her anger and replaced it with arousal, showing her body what her mind wasn’t ready to accept yet.
“This is wrong,” she said, but her voice lacked conviction. Her body was telling a completely different
story.
“Is it?” I asked, letting my hands rest lightly on her waist. “Your body doesn’t seem to think so.”
I could feel her pulse racing where my lips touched her neck. Despite her protests, she was responding to me in ways she probably didn’t understand.
“I should go,” she said, but she made no move to leave.
