Rejected by My Alpha Now He Replaced Me with a Copycat Luna novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111

Asher’s POV

I wanted to kill him. No, killing wasn’t enough. I wanted to keep Michael Clyne alive while I removed each of his fingers and toes, castrated him, and then worked on his organs.

I could feel the alpha power radiating from him in waves, and how he was trying to use it to force Raven into submission. But she wasn’t submitting. God, she was fierce. Still standing, even though her nose was bleeding and her skull probably felt like it was being crushed.

Just knowing that made me respect her even more. My doubts about her, my suspicions that this might all be some ploy to take us in and make us bow to her father’s will, were melting away day by day. In their place was admiration and far too much damn regret.

But right now, one thing overwhelmed everything else. Rage.

My blade moved into my hand as if it were part of me. In many ways, it was. I pressed the steel tip to a spot just below Michael’s left shoulder blade. I knew this angle well. One quick thrust and the blade would pierce his heart.

Though I wanted him to suffer far more than that. He deserved the worst this world had to offer. But I would stop him at any cost. Even in front of a room full of witnesses.

“Stop it,” I snarled.

The alpha waves ceased when Michael straightened up. He glanced back with a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “You’ve grown up well, boy, despite not having a single family member to raise you.”

My canines pressed against my gums, wanting to lengthen. My wolf demanded we tear open this beast’s throat and revel in the taste of his blood.

“I built my own family,” I said through gritted teeth.

Michael’s brown eyes flashed gold. “Then I suppose I’ll have to steal them from you too this time. I imagine it will be an even worse fate this

time.”

My fingers ached to drive the knife into Michael’s heart and end him. But I could see Sheriff Grady and his two deputies eating from the corner of my eye. Going to jail would destroy my wolf. He couldn’t handle confinement.

Michael laughed and slid down from the stool, away from my knife. “So powerless. Just like years ago.”

“You have no idea what you’ve started. But you’ll pay for it in blood,” I snarled.

He made a shushing sound. “Careful, pup. I might take that as a threat. You know what I do to enemies.”

Raven let out a soft whimper, as if memories were hitting her like machine-gun fire.

Michael grinned, obviously filled with joy at her pain. “I’ll be seeing you again, little one.”

Raven nearly collapsed, her legs giving out. She barely managed to grab the bar’s edge to support herself. I was already moving, closing the distance. I caught her easily, and with my shifter strength, she felt no heavier than Lulu,

“Relax,” I whispered.

Raven said nothing. Her eyes became glazed and unfocused, as if she couldn’t see what was actually in front of her.

I cursed, wrapping one arm around her waist. “Come on. You’re okay. I’ve got you.”

I helped her from behind the bar, moving slowly. The impulse to simply pick her up was strong, but I knew what kind of scene that would cause. Joe had already sensed something was wrong. He wove through the tables, meeting us at the end of the bar.

“What happened? Who was that man?”

“Space,” I said through gritted teeth. “Give us some space.”

Anger flashed across Joe’s expression, but he nodded. “Take her to the office. I’ll watch the bar.”

I lifted my chin in acknowledgment and guided Raven toward the hallway. As soon as we were out of the customers’ sight, I picked her up. The fact that Raven didn’t protest told me how far gone she was.

The scent of sage and breeze filled my nose, and the feeling of home surrounded me. It was both pure temptation and torture.

Pushing open Dexter’s office door, I slipped inside and kicked the door shut behind us with my foot. I settled us onto the couch, half of which was piled with random hoodies and papers. Dexter was such a slob. But none of that mattered now. Only Raven mattered.

My hand slid across her back. “You’re okay. You’re safe.”

She trembled beside me, as if some invisible battle was raging fiercely within her. I wasn’t sure how long it took for her to speak. But when she finally did, her words were the last thing I expected.

“Kill me,” Raven whispered. “It would be a mercy.”
