Emma felt a pang of emotion at her cousin's concern.
For the sake of his fairness, she was willing to grant him some grace.
She tossed the wooden stick into the car's trash bin and opened the door.
"I can spare Lockwood Pharma, but the future legal representative must be a Jennings. That is my final concession."
She closed the door and began walking against the chilling wind.
Sebastian immediately scrambled out of the car to chase after her, but another sleek vehicle pulled up right in front of her. Emma didn't hesitate to get in.
As the car drove past Sebastian, he caught a glimpse of Carter Harrington behind the wheel.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Emma's eyes were clouded with unreadable emotions.
While she was lost in thought, a tissue suddenly appeared in her unfocused line of sight.
"A single popsicle was enough to sway you?"
Carter’s tone carried a light, teasing ease. The gloom hovering over Emma instantly cleared up.
"I'm not a kid anymore."
A popsicle wasn't enough to move her, but her cousin's attitude was.
"If the Lockwood family's mess isn't resolved, they'll just keep pestering me. Besides, even though the factory's equipment is outdated, its operational channels and staff are completely intact. It can't serve as the main hub for CFT, but it will work perfectly fine as a secondary facility."
Emma had been mulling this over for a long time. She had taken the vice president's earlier suggestion to heart.
"Plus, I want Gillian to realize something. What's hers, I can't steal. But what's mine, she will never get her hands on."
Emma smirked. Gillian was desperate for those shares, which meant Emma was absolutely determined to withhold them.
She would save the factory, but from now on, it was getting a new name.
"His cheap ice cream clearly wasn't enough to sway you, which makes perfect sense."
Carter tossed the tissue he'd used to dab the corner of her mouth, then casually pulled out a velvet-lined jewelry box.
Inside were over a dozen solid gold charms, each about the size of a thumbnail and uniquely shaped.
There were tiny popsicles, ice cream cones, cupcakes, and soda bottles.
They were adorable little designs, but crafted from pure gold, blending playful innocence with undeniable luxury.
