For a long time after that, I behaved disgracefully more times than I could count.

I wanted the entire werewolf realm to know that she was the mistress.

She was an omega I had personally sponsored. I had once treated her like my own sister.

The more kindness I had shown her back then, the deeper my hatred ran now.

There were countless men in the world.

Why did she have to set her sights on my mate of all people?

I did not accept his rejection, but my wolf began to weaken as a result.

Not long after, I swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills. I was rushed to the pack hospital, but I didn’t die.

Liam smiled indulgently and agreed to everything.

Soon after, they picked a restaurant for dinner.

“Hope, this place is amazing,” Maggie said cheerfully. “Liam and I come here all the time. You probably haven’t had it in ages, right?”

She enthusiastically introduced the dishes to me while holding the menu.

I kept my smile faint. “I’m tired of French food. You two can decide.”

I had heard that after Maggie finished her warrior training under the Royals, she failed to officially become a

warrior.

Liam then used his connections to keep her in the pack as a pack warrior anyway.

Everyone praised them as a perfect match.

I lowered my head and smiled to myself. Other people’s words were only meant to be heard, never taken

seriously.

Maggie’s gaze lingered on my clothes, her expression complicated.

“Hope, what do you do for work now?”

I paused for a moment and answered honestly. “I don’t have a job right now.”

Her expression immediately turned into one of smug understanding. She sighed.
