Rejected then Claimed by the Alpha King (Liam and Hope) novel Chapter 3

Chapter 3

I smashed everything I could get my hands on in every room until nothing was left intact.

I refused to believe it.

One was the mate I had loved for nearly ten years. The other was the she-wolf I had brought back to the pack

and treated like a little sister.

And yet, right under my nose, while I cooked meals for them, they had been openly having sex in the study, in

the training grounds, everywhere.

Under the pretense of training, they indulged in an affair.

My whole body shook violently, tears of anger blurring my vision, my mind utterly rejecting the reality in front

of me.

Liam looked at me with disgust, stubbornly keeping Maggie shielded behind him the entire time.

“Hope, you look like a lunatic. You’d better calm down. If you dare lay a finger on Maggie, I won’t let you get away with it.”

Maggie hid behind him, the red marks on her neck not yet faded, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Hope, I’m sorry. I really am… I know this is immoral, but I fell in love with Alpha Liam anyway…”

“Please, I don’t want a title, and I don’t want to take your place as Luna. Just let me stay with Alpha Liam,

please?”

I was stunned. “Do you even realize you’re the mistress destroying someone else’s family?”

“I don’t care!”

Maggie screamed just as loudly, as if she were fighting for her freedom.

“This is biological attraction, Hope. Even if you hadn’t saved me, I would’ve fallen for Alpha Liam at a mate gathering. And he would’ve fallen for me too.”

Looking at her stubborn, fearless expression, I was suddenly taken back to that rainy night when I found her.

Because I saved her, those rogues kept an eye on me for a long time.

For weeks, I was too afraid to shift and travel through the forest alone.

I didn’t dare move freely again until I brought warriors with me and reported the matter to the pack enforcers.

I had never once regretted saving Maggie.

But that night, I hated myself for being kind. For giving another woman the chance to get close to my mate.

Ten years. That was ten years of my life.

I couldn’t accept it.

I let myself fall apart, hair disheveled, screaming like a madwoman as I demanded to know when it had all

started.

Looking back now, I realize how foolish I was. What did it matter when it began, once it had already happened?

But at the time, all I had was rage, my chest filled with the fury of betrayal.

“Hope, stop making a scene. Maggie’s focus right now is her studies. She won’t compete with you, and she doesn’t want a title. You’re still my Luna.”

After putting his clothes back on, Liam spoke as if he were being generous, as if he were comforting me.

“I’ll handle Maggie’s expenses from now on. You don’t need to keep supporting her.”

Maggie never returned to the pack house. But their meeting places multiplied.

Cafés. Restaurants. Libraries. Even hotels.
