Remorse After Breaking Up (Sebastian) novel Chapter 1228

"I trust the Holy Maiden's word. Let's begin," Sebastian replied, gesturing politely. Although he wasn't entirely sure about Asriel's true nature, he chose to believe her, albeit with some caution. His primary goal was to finish the game and leave as soon as possible.

Asriel said, "I already picked my stone before you arrived. To ensure fairness, I'll let you choose first."

"What if I happen to pick the same stone you chose?" Sebastian asked.

"Then we'll pick again," Asriel replied.

Sebastian nodded and began walking through the stone yard. The rough stones here were massive, with some being as tall as a person, while the smallest ones weighed several hundred pounds.

Their quality was also top-notch. He examined more than a dozen stones and found that each contained something valuable, which was a testament to the meticulous selection process.

Despite the limited number of rough stones, their sheer size made inspecting them a time-consuming process. It took Sebastian nearly an hour to finish reviewing all of them.

"I'll choose this one," Sebastian said, pointing to a towering rough stone.

The stone was over a person's height and carried a price tag of 28.88 million spiritual stones.

Asriel showed no surprise and smiled. "That's the king of stones in our collection—the most expensive one here. Many masters have examined it and believe it holds something extraordinary."

"Does this mean you also picked this one?" Sebastian asked uncertainly.

"No," Asriel replied, pointing to the stone behind him. "I chose the one next to it."

Sebastian turned to look. The stone Asriel selected was nearly as large as his choice, priced slightly lower at 26.66 million spiritual stones.

Asriel continued, "Shall we cut the stones ourselves? Any objections?"

Asriel, who was busy cutting her own stone, paused abruptly. Her clear, luminous eyes sparkled with surprise, mixed with a hint of unease.

Sebastian continued slicing the stone at other angles. Once he had removed the remaining outer layers, the stone was reduced to the size of a football. Even at this point, Asriel's apprehension grew.

A stone of this size likely weighed over ten pounds, and if it turned out to be thickened earth stone, it would still fetch a high price.

But if it was a royal yellow stone, the implications were far worse. It could easily be worth over ten billion spiritual stones, a priceless treasure rarely seen on the market.

Sebastian switched to using a whetstone to polish the remaining layer. As the treasure's full form was revealed, Asriel was utterly stunned.

"It's a royal yellow stone!" Her eyes widened in disbelief, filled with shock and astonishment.
