The police don't give her a chance to explain further, ushering her into the cruiser and taking her to the station.

"Walk us through the physical altercation at the hospital," the officer demands, pen in hand, his eyes locked on her.

"Willow started insulting my friend first. Besides, she threw the first punch. I was just acting in self-defense."

Charlotte says it with absolute conviction, fully believing she is in the right.

"According to the security footage, Ms. Huxley did initiate the physical contact. However, after you restrained her, she made no further attempts to strike you, meaning the immediate threat was neutralized."

"Once you were no longer in danger, you struck Ms. Huxley. Therefore, you were the aggressor in the subsequent assault, which means you bear the primary responsibility. Furthermore, her injuries are far more severe."

Charlotte lets out a mocking laugh. "She attacked me first, and you're flipping the narrative. No matter what you say, I won't pay her a dime, and I certainly won't apologize."

She stares the officer down.

"Just tell me, how does she want to handle this?"
