CRACK. A crisp sound echoed as the bone fractured.
The little girl finally let go of Gona and giggled. "It’s your own fault for not crying out. You can’t blame me; I’m just a child."
Gona’s face twitched. A child? What a joke.
Gona gloomily returned to his seat. Nangong Yi was inwardly shocked. A little girl this powerful... It only strengthened his conviction as he whispered, "I told you we should make things difficult for them, not use brute force. You have only yourself to blame for not listening."
Gona gave a hollow chuckle. His right hand was now useless. He wanted to go to the hospital, but his pride wouldn’t allow it.
Gona said in a low voice, "Nangong Yi, what about you? Are you just going to sit here and do nothing?"
Nangong Yi glanced at Gona, then turned his gaze to Wu Tian and the little girl with a smile. "I hear this place has some excellent alcohol. When I was a King of Soldiers in Europe, I learned that being a King of Soldiers requires more than just combat prowess; you also need a secondary specialty. For example, I can mix cocktails."
Seeming to understand Nangong Yi’s plan, Gona immediately played along. "I’ve long heard there’s an incredible cocktail master in Europe. Nangong Yi, come to think of it, he has the same name as you. That must be you, right?"
Nangong Yi nodded and had someone bring over the alcohol. Right in front of Wu Tian and the little girl, he began to mix the drinks. The shakers and glasses flew through his hands as if he were juggling. The display alone was quite a spectacle, full of artistic flair.
The little girl was fascinated and clapped her small hands. "Wow, impressive! Here’s a reward for you." With that, she tossed a one yuan coin next to Nangong Yi.
Nangong Yi was mortified. Is this little girl trying to humiliate me? Does she think I’m some street performer?
Nangong Yi quickly composed himself. He had already combined several types of liquor into a shaker and was shaking it vigorously. Finally, he finished preparing a five-layer cocktail. He placed it before Wu Tian and the little girl. "My honored guests, please have a taste."
Now it was time for their little act. Gona immediately chimed in, "Hey, Nangong Yi, no offense, but a cocktail this fine should be enjoyed by someone who actually knows their alcohol. You’re giving it to them? Can they even appreciate what they’re drinking?"
The little girl snorted. "This drink is nothing special."
"That’s right, it really is nothing special." In the little girl’s eyes, Wu Tian was omnipotent. And she wasn’t wrong; Wu Tian considered himself omnipotent as well. His natural gifts had long since been modified, granting him abilities like a photographic memory and the capacity to learn any skill just by watching it once. He had watched countless videos of master mixologists and was already an expert bartender, though he had never actually mixed a drink for anyone.
So even though Nangong Yi’s performance was flashy, in Wu Tian’s eyes, his skills were merely passable.
Nangong Yi started to get annoyed. "You think my bartending is poor? Are you kidding me?"
Gona felt Wu Tian’s comment was the perfect opening. He seized the opportunity and smirked at him. "Mr. Wu Tian, if you say Nangong Yi’s bartending is poor, you must be a master yourself! Nangong Yi, what are you waiting for? Quickly ask him for some pointers."
Nangong Yi was inwardly delighted. Wu Tian took the bait so easily. This is simpler than I thought. He said, "Yes, please, allow me to witness what it means to ’show off one’s meager skills before an expert.’"
Wu Tian chuckled. He’s practically begging to be humiliated. Of course, I have to oblige him. Since he wants to lose face so badly, I’ll make sure the slap is extra harsh.
Wu Tian looked at the little girl and said, "My dear, you go and compete with him."
The little girl was bewildered. I know how to mix drinks? Since when? But she trusted Wu Tian’s mysterious abilities, so after a moment’s thought, she nodded. "Fine, I’ll compete."
Nangong Yi felt utterly humiliated. But she’s just a child. How could her bartending possibly be better than mine? When Wu Tian had told the little girl to compete, Nangong Yi noticed her conflicted expression. It was obvious she didn’t know the first thing about mixing drinks.
